It seems like this is going to be how it is every year now. About 1/3 of your roster will go into the portal.

Second, during last year's winter transfer portal, Kiffin signed 24 players from the portal.
Kiffin signed an additional 6 players in the spring., including Trinidad Chambliss.
In total, Kiffin signed 30 players from the portal last winter and spring.
Kiffin can easily replace 26 players.

Face it, the LSU football program hasn't had the leadership in place to meet its potential or the expectations for over 5 seasons. We are in need of a messiah as much as we are a coach. Let us all rally around this program and our new coach and remain both patient and supportive.

Obviously not all kids want to play for Kiffin. I love the hire, and I know some were processed....but it's obvious players aren't as fired up as us fans are. We still need good players not just a coach. Yes, attrition was expected.

You are simply setting a market value giving you the option to stay at the LSU offer or take a potentially better one…
You could also get replaced during that time. It’s a risk but it doesn’t mean they are all leaving.

It literally isn’t worse.
I don't understand why you think it was worse after O left. Brian Kelly came in and won the SEC west with the leftover talent and portal additions. I don't recall any spectacular portal additions that would explain this. And looking back, it certainly can't attribute it to an accomplished coaching staff. It would be reasonable to give credit to the group of players that returned from the O led team. After four years of Kelly, I don't know what to expect from the returning players.

I could be mistaken but we officially lost only two players. While the remaining players are or will be in the portal, they have yet to commit to another team so unless LSU released them those guys are still technically on the team and able to return if they are accepted. That might be splitting hairs in some circles of opinion.
