Unless we just fall apart a few games in a row, we should be able to win a regional and Super. The issue will be the CWS. Although, every team has that issue. Either our bats wake up to overcome the weak bullpen, some guys throw some gems unexpectedly, or we go home.

But, that isn't unique to us. Every team has their flaws, and we've managed to win 40 games with ours.

That’s true, but can you give me just ONE reason to have ANY hope at all that any of our bullpen pitchers, outside of the ones you mentioned, can all of a sudden throw a strike?

Noot, looking at tonight sure he gave up two runs but he pitched a decent 4 innings.

Shores, yeah he has struggled at times but has also been good at times.

Cooper Williams, hasn't given up a run in 8 SEC appearances.

Maybe someone else will step up.

But even with 4 good arms you can get out of a regional.

Pitching was fine tonight. This is what South Carolina has given up in the SEC lately:
11
11
24
7
22
9

This dogshit road offense is what kept South Carolina hanging around all night. LSU had given up one hit in the 6th, and the game was tied!

2023 had Guidry, Cooper and Ack. There's nobody like that in this bullpen.

Wasn't Cooper pretty bad in the regular season?

Ack had a 9 ERA in SEC play in 2023
Guidry 5.4
Coop 5.7

Our ERA in SEC play in 2023 was 6.17
Our ERA in SEC play in 2025 so far is 4.23

Our pitching this year even if you include Skenes in 2023 is better at-least statistically than the year we won it all.

Anderson/whoever against 4 seed

Which is stupid. It just is.

Just because Jay is insecure as hell doesn’t make it a good decision.

LSU never started Ace’s in home regionals until Jay started Skenes. Just because he did it once, our fans now think it’s smart and ok disregarding 40 years of great lsu history

Depending on who we are matched against might pitch backwards even though Jay has not seemed to do so in the past..
If you get Alcorn st as a 4 you pitch backwards
Hope to out slug and then game 2 is Anderson game 3 is eyanson
That is how you get out of a regional.

Next round is best of three win 1 and 2 don't worry about 3.
Omaha is going to be hard , but pitching is not the issue scoring runs is our issue we are not a clutch or a big momentum team.

let me guess you said this in 2023?

I was adamant we wouldn’t get past a Super after the blown 9 run lead vs State in 23. I learned my lesson.

Guidry had balls, but his stuff is just ok. Cooper was good, but so is Evans. Ack had the postseason of his life, but come the frick on man. Shores and Noot both have better stuff than he ever did.

This pen has more overall talent than 23’s, but we need some guys to step up and be consistent. Noot and Shores feel like they are at least becoming reliable enough to be trusted to handle 1 pass through a lineup.

We REALLY need Cowan to get back on track facing some non-SEC teams who haven’t scouted the hell out of him in the Regional.

One of those was because he came in the game with the bases loaded and no outs.

We have the pitching to get out of a regional. It's the Super Regional I'm worried about.

If we win with Anderson and Eyanson then I like us to win one of two.

What we absolutely cannot do is throw off in game 1…..Jay has a history of not doing this so it really doesn’t concern me.

You have to go all in to win Anderson’s start….you throw your absolute best after Anderson but who that is being up in the air at this point in the season is very concerning. An Anderson CG would be good too assuming pitch count isn’t too crazy. Anderson HAS TO HAVe run support!

Depends on the 4 seed… why waste Anderson when anyone we got can win it if the 4 is weak?
Did you not watch tonight?

We just held Anderson against a team that was 5-22 in conference. It was a calculated risk to pitch midweek guys today, to save our top 2 pitchers for games 2 and 3 (to keep them on schedule), and save our #3 pitcher for relief. It almost worked.

And Jay will remember that the next time he considers holding Anderson.

Jay hasn’t pitched off since he’s been here and tonight just cemented that he won’t any time soon.

Our #2 was not inconsistent...check out his totals and where he was drafted. Now, #3, yeah we struggled

I just don’t get this mindset. Yes the offense sucked but with that said we were up 6-5 going to the 9th inning. The pitching gave up a HR to tie it and the winning run came across on a wild pitch. Pitching directly lost that game….if we had good 9th inning pitching we win.
