Sounds like Ensminger is making a deliberate effort to slowly give him more responsibility.

A few stuburn posters still can't except that Brady isn't calling even a third of the plays despite Brady saying so. SAD

Burrow. Chase. Marshall. Jefferson. Edwards-Helaire. Experienced OL. Moss.

That’s why we have success. Been a while since we had that many players you could trust completely.

I was told here that BRADY was calling all the plays

when i pointed out how i could tell at times the tendencies of each i was told this was all bradys offense

i will leave the posters name out so as to not humiliate him. he knows who he is.

Love the respect, deference, and plainspoken way he describes how they work together.

Tone set from the top, of all the things O has done very well, the direct nature in which he communicates has been a joy.

don’t give a shite what anyone says, Steve did NOT do a bad job last year with this offense from a situational play calling perspective.

This is complete bullshite. We would have lost to UT, Auburn, Bama and possibly ole Miss with the same play calling as last year.

They were running play action with burrow under center. Long developing plays, using two TE to just block, not using the middle of the field. E was running the same shite we saw under Cam.

Brady is awesome and brought fresh ideas to revamp the offense. He got our WRs into incredible form. He's an invaluable asset.

Steve still calls a majority of the plays.

I remember Coach O saying this back in July or August. Makes sense. Ensminger has always been a good organizational/game planning/play-calling guy. Where he desperately needed help was in designing and implementing a modern offense. Outstanding job by him and O in finding a gem in Brady.

Yup we know

Plays that don’t work: E called em

Plays that work: Brady calls them

It’s sad a football savant like you can not detect coach-speak lmao

Steve’s the offensive coordinator. Steve’s the play-caller. It’s just my job up there to, if I have any ideas, for him to take them and run with it if he wants. If not, keep doing what he’s doing and we’ve had a lot of success this year with Steve being a great play-caller. There’ll be times in games where he’ll say, ‘Hey look, you’ve got it.’ Or, ‘Hey, whatever you want to do here, you’ve got it.’ I think every coach is always ready, if their time comes, that they need to call a play. So, I just sit up there, and if there’s an opportunity that I have to give some advice or what I’m seeing or my thoughts — especially from the passing game standpoint — I’ll give it. Outside of that, it’s Steve’s show, and I’m just rolling with it.

Good on Brady for giving E that credit

It’s pretty absurd to me that Brady got the Broyles Award on his own. They should have been co-nominees.

E is a treasure and one of the greatest Tigers of all time for his contributions and attitude through this whole ride

I’ve literally watched him call plays on TV while Ensminger spits in a cup.

Brady already said that whoever wants to hire him as offensive coordinator doesn't know Steve Ensminger. A couple more years of on the job training from the best. And he will be ready to take over here, or somewhere else. Whichever is best for him and his family.

He said he calls plays when Ensminger tells him to go for it. No one is saying that Brady never calls plays. But Ensminger calls the majority of them.

This isn't coach speak, it is just the way it is.

Right, it’s just coincidence that the multiple times they show them per game, Brady is always talking & E never is.

Like not once.

But he is calling the majority of the plays, lmao

Regardless of who's calling what, it's working. More than "working," it's amazing. If it takes both to maintain continuity then I hope both stay.

I duly note that our offense didn't function nearly this well when it was just E in the box and it would profit long term for Joe Brady to stick around a few years to learn the recruiting ins and outs from a a master recruiter.
