IF we land the right guys in the portal, there's a way. But our schedule next year is rough.

It's entirely possible this OL could be decent under a coach with a competent offense approach/scheme rather than the predictable incoherent mess under the last OC.

The defense will have a LOT of production to replace. Baker is a good DC. But he's not good enough to consistently overcome an extreme lack of talent. LSU had an awful secondary for the last two seasons. This year they get an All American CB and an All SEC safety, and suddenly it's one of the best in the country. LSU's is going to have to find guys to fill those shoes.

with the portal and NIL, roster can turn over drastically every year. It's what I hate about college football.

But LSU should be a hot destination with Kiffin here.

Dont be surprised if Dom transfers...his younger brother who is a 3 star just committed to Ohio State...they dont recruit 3 stars without some kind of ulterior motive

Dom was a late flip to LSU, so I’d have to question his commitment to the Tigers, based on his brother’s decision. Dom sees his replacements coming in the next class. I hope I’m wrong, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Whit Weeks may come back. A healthy, more productive season could push him higher up in the 2027 NFL Draft. And Harold Perkins has a year of eligibility left. Not sure what his draft stock looks like, but maybe enough NIL money can bring him back.

Would be thrilled to get both (or either) back but I'm assuming we get neither. But you're right, in the new NIL era, who knows.....

We were just one QB and two guards from competing.

Honestly think we’re fine at guard. I like Echols , move curne back to his natural position and a healthy Solomon Thomas gives you 3 uber talented options

Get qb1 and I’ll agree! Lanes first order of business.

I think 9-10 wins is a reasonable expectation until he gets a couple of portal and recruiting classes under his belt

I was looking at the schedule last night

@Tenn is most certainly a loss. It's on the road, tough place to play and they have coaching/roster continuity. You have the most going against you in that game.

Bama\8&4\Tex at home. 3 likely losses. Same thing - coaching and roster continuity. Those 3 rosters will absolutely be better than LSUs

3 toss up games - Clemson, @Ole Miss, @Auburn. Clemson has roster and coaching continuity although not nearly as good as the SEC. Ole Miss is losing a lot but it's still tough to win on the road and there's probably never been a revenge game as tough as that one is about to be. Auburn has a salty defense and Golesh is a solid O coach. Auburn is a very tough place to win at.

Wins - @UK, Ms St, McNeese, @Ark, TBD rent a win.

On top of that, LSU might lose Baker. Tons of production to replace on D. Uncertain O line. Who is the QB?

I think even with Baker, the floor is 6-6 and the ceiling is 9-3 and that's being very optimistic

If LSU hangs on to Baker or gets an equal replacement, I expect LSU to be as good as anybody starting in 2027. Next year is going to be rough

Will hold off predictions until after recruiting and portal are finished along with final coaching staff. With play calling we should be much better offensively and if Baker stays that will help. Have 4 really tough homes games. Would be surprising if we don’t drop at least one of those if not 3. Would be disappointing if lost all 4. Always tough to win on the road. Most likely playoff path would be to split the 4 tough homes games and go undefeated on the road. I think the hope for all is we get a QB1 and some additions to OL along with better coaching then hopefully offense will keep us in each game to where we have a shot in 4th qtr of every game

Yes, the schedule is brutal. But, for once, I will not fear that our offense is leaving something on the table. We may not be great on offense, but we will be as good as our talent allows us to be.

I'm done with going into a game hoping our defense can keep us in it because I know our offense can't.
