And out of the last 90 innings (10 games), this offense has been virtually non-existsnt in 84 of them...

that’s just not true thought

We had 11 Against Alabama Game one, we had 32 hits on the series. We won 2 games. We scored 6 runs last night in 1 inning.

4 runs in a game isn’t ideal but it’s not nonexistent either.

At our lowest we are still scoring 2-4 runs in our bad games.

if our offense is terrible who’s offense is awesome right now?

That’s good enough for first place in just about every conference outside the SEC

We always get hot late. Basically an LSU tradition.

But agree we can make it to Omaha. However we have major issues and others in Omaha will likely be better. Maybe not more talented than LSU, but better collective teams

How many do the other contenders have?

Other than our two weekend starters and Cowan and Evans out the BP, what pitcher you have confidence in to hold a lead late in a regional game?

We had the exact same problem at this point in 2023.

You understand that 99% of the teams in the tourney don’t have 5+ guys they can rely on, right?

College bullpens as a whole are almost all pretty bad.

ETA: Look no further than Tennessee for proof. They have 2 good starters, 2 good relievers and then a pile of guys with 5+ ERAs.

Again- we blew a 9 run lead over 3 innings to State and lost in extras Mother’s Day weekend. That’s two weeks later than now, so it’s not like this has never happened before.

Exactly. The 4 guys they have available tomorrow with >2 IP in the SEC have given up 36 runs in 51.1 IP in conference play. Having Cowan and Evans available should be a distinct advantage.

Give me your roster breakdown of the at least 8 other teams who are.

Texas
Tenn
Arky
Clemson
Auburn
Oregon st
….. The point is we’re gonna have to be lucky to get a favorable matchup to make it to Omaha. We just got beat down 9-3 with our number two starter, who pitched great. Our hitters are terrible aganst good pitching. We have five arms that are reliable which puts pressure on our whole team. We will make it out of the regional but against a good team in the super we lose.

The same is true for Tennessee.

Auburn is 2-7 on the road in conference. Clemson is 10th in the ACC in runs scored per game in conference play and their conference ERA is 5.86 (8th in the ACC). Oregon St has played a weak schedule overall and has 2 starters and 2 relievers with more than 10 IP below a 4.00 ERA. I see many holes in 4 of your 6 contenders. And we still aren’t up to 8.

Against SEC teams, we’re 6th in batting average, 0.004 away from being 8th. We were 2nd or 3rd going into the Auburn series. Last three weeks have been rough.

I'm not even going to argue you guys anymore. If you think this team is similar to 2023 then that is on you and inability to be rational. It would take a minor miracle to be in Omaha, much less competing. Now if we get 2 or 3 players hot AND have 2 more step up out of the pen......maybe......but I haven't seen that for a month. While all wins count, game 1 we should have finished the game losing 3-0 (and that was generous with runners left from Tenn) credit to our starting pitching but it should have been 3 outs before the fireworks started bottom 9....routine ball errors. Last night, I bet Tenn left 15 runners in scoring position, and still put up 9 runs. This isn't a bad game, this isn't a bad week...this has been a bad month. It won't get any easier with Arkansas coming to town, and A&M playing better and on the road against them.

I saw a poster say we are better than 98% of teams....yeah, no shite. That leaves us behind about what, 8 to 10 teams....that we would meet in the post-season. You can be objective without being a Homer. We lose today and this team will finish at BEST 17-13, and very possibly 16-14.....will scrape in to host a Regional probably about a 10-12 seed.
