At this point who cares, 1,2,3 seed. They will host first and second rounds. If they can't get past the 2nd round on their home court with Morris/Flaujae/Reese, there's a problem somewhere. People looking for a final four run are unrealistic about what this team has. They are way ahead of schedule in year 2 but they aren't final four quality yet.
They need to get to a sweet 16. Everything else is gravy if they get beyond that.
That's how I felt once the conference schedule started in January. I EXPECT a sweet sixteen, I'm hoping for an elite eight. I don't think we'll make it past that, but under the circumstances it would STILL be a great season in year two of Coach Mulkey's tenure.

They will be a 3 seed. The committee was begging to LSU to lose to someone other that SC so they could drop them.
And it would be hard to argue with them doing that given they got blown out by SC and split with Tennessee to finish 1-2 against ranked teams.

We will come back next year and do some damage in the tournament.

I totally agree that the free throw shooting disparity is the biggest factor... the officials sucked in my opinion and that was THE factor in the loss!

I was hoping to see more of Bartlett as well. I hope she doesn’t decide to transfer.

I could definitely see her transferring somewhere for more playing time. She and Hannah Gusters have been very disappointing projects.
But rest assured, it’s nobody’s fault but hers that she’s at the end of the bench. Here’s hoping she breaks out next season and is in the post rotation with Reese, Smith, and Del Rosario.

Not a bad loss. There are going to the dance with 2 losses, regardless. If they had beaten Tennessee and then have to play another game/loss to South Carolina it all ends the same but with day off and one less game to play.

No offense, I like Bartlett but if she can't break the lineup for any type of minutes now... she likely won't as more talent comes in next year through the incoming freshmen class and the portal. I think Kim took her in after first because she walked into LSU knowing the program was a bit in disarray and she was a national rated recruit despite chronic injuries prior to college.
Kim will need to go find another scorer from the portal particularly in the guard spot. Flaujae and Morris are great but LSU has a giant block hole in the last guard spot.
Depth wise they should be in better next. Its a bit much expecting the starting five to be lights out every night knowing they won't get anything from the bench. Thats tough to sustain.

I think our depth next season WILL be better. You've got the kids coming in with that national #1 class, but I also think they're going to get a post and a three point shooter in the portal. I expect the team to be even better next season.
