Wow. Ummmm no. If you find baseball boring, the truth is you probably should find some reality TV or something else to watch.

Baseball at all levels addressed the time, the wasted time elements of baseball. Pitch clocks umps not allowing multiple batter step out etc have helped speed the game.

But fundamentally changing the game, no.

I can actually seeing this happen. But, with that said, there seam to be more schools that allow the Catcher to call the game then most people realize.

I'm surprised he didn't go into the replays, having the bases light up when touched, that they should go to a run rule for the first 7 innings, etc.

All if these are terrible ideas. The only think that needs to change is the bats. Bring back the old bats please.

college baseball is pretty damn good to me...

now strangely, the games in Omaha are the LEAST watchable of the year for me. Love the regionals, love the supers, they seem urgent, but TD Ameritrade is too quiet.

the new ball was a home run however, pardon the pun

Not according to tv ratings. The CWS championship games are getting a 0.3.

How does this compare to prior years? Baseball has always had a more casual fanbase and should not be compared to the other sports (especially football). Outside of a handful of teams, most programs don't see more than 5k fans a game.

The biggest issue w/ the CWS this year, is it seams to be dragging out compared to prior years. Plus, if they really wanted to increase viewership, they would actually promote it better. Even though the games are on ESPN, you very rarely see updates on SportsCenter about the games. Also, the individual sports pages (ESPN, CBS Sports, yahoo sports, bleacher report, etc.) do not advertise college baseball, and you usually have to dig through the back pages to find any information (which is almost always a year old) about the sport itself.

any of these would frick up the game of baseball or not even work. leave the game alone. you are bored because you don't appreciate the nuances of the game.

the only way to make baseball more "exciting" to more fans is to assist the offense to be more productive. to do that, they could merely shrink the strike zone, lower the pitchers mound or bring the fences in.

Just because LSU blows in the postseason doesn't mean the game of baseball needs adjusting.

- Foul Outs - At bats with 2 strikes where the batter just keeps fouling it off can get pretty tedious. Once a player gets 2 strikes, give them one more foul and then they are out.

LSU has traditionally been great at college baseball, but it can be a boring product at times. One at bat can feature 5 foul balls, 3 pick off moves, and it feels like nothing happened.

Here are some of my thoughts on how to improve the game we all love:

- No Relief Pitcher Warmup Pitches - They are warming up in the bullpen. Do they really need 8 more warmup pitches where they aren't showing their best stuff to potential hitters?

- Limit catcher visits to the mound - It seems like every 2-3 batters there is a conference at the mound. The pitcher doesn't need a dissertation from the catcher and infielders. Let him pitch. Limit it like coaching visits.

- Give the pitcher and catcher ear pieces that the coach can talk into - This way we don't have to go through the exhausting process of coach calling a pitch, catcher relaying it and pitcher accepting it. It would be instant

- Foul Outs - At bats with 2 strikes where the batter just keeps fouling it off can get pretty tedious. Once a player gets 2 strikes, give them one more foul and then they are out.

- Or start with a 1-1 count - Works well in softball leagues to speed up the game

Thoughts? Anymore ideas?

You don't like the game of baseball. That's on you.

As if your original post wasnt stupid enough, now you are comparing college baseball, a niche sport to the tv power of college football and the final four?

Well, I believe if college baseball made some significant changes to improve the sport, then it could compete a little better with college football and the final four. Instead, it is in the ballpark of lacrosse and softball.

Baseball is a much slower paced game and therefore it is easier to observe and critique coaching decisions - what pitch to throw, steal, bunt, change pitchers, etc...

Basketball and football are much faser paced. Coaches in either of these sports are making decisions and adjustments the entire game, but the average fan may not realize it or know enough about the game to make a critique.

In basketball, coaches are constantly adjusting defending certain aspects of the opposing offense - pick and roll, when to double the post, zone versus man defense, applying pressure to ball handlers, etc...On offense, they are adjusting offensive sets to attack certain defenders or weak spots in a defense - when to run more isolation, when to work it into the post, pick and rolls against certain players, etc...These decisions are along with substitution patterns, when to foul, use timeouts, etc...

In football, coaches are calling plays on offense and defense. Along with the individual playcalls, they are observing a pre-determined gameplan which could be run heavy out of certain formations, focus on a specific type of pass play - screens, fades, etc... They are also changing blocking schemes, blitzing schemes, how to defend, a hot player, etc...This is why football has many more coaches than a sport like baseball, where one coach can make the majority of the decisions.

I would say that all the 3 major sports can be "smart person sports" from a coaching or observer perspective, but baseball is so much slower that the decision making is much more recognizable and easier to critique. This is not a knock on baseball, this is more of a nod to all 3 major sports.

Ways to Improve College Baseball

Your suggestions are asinine, plain and simple.

Fix the MF'ing bats, period. The NCAA has ruined college baseball by overreacting on the bats.

He's an anti baseball troll. Pretty obvious by his previous threads. Funny so many are taking him seriously.

2. Either use minor league ball and same bats OR use current ball and 2010 bats.

they do use minor league balls now. that's why home runs and runs per game were significantly up this season
