Brees perfected the back shoulder pass. This is the Saints system.

And the Bashers are trying to claim that a great passer's strike zone is the same size at 40 yards as it is at 10 yards They are either football-morons, or intentionally insulting Burrow's skills.

For instance... Put a dart player 4-times as far from his dart board target... see if he throws darts in the same cluster from about 8 feet away as he does from about 32 feet away.

Only 3 SEC QB's threw more than 40 long passes (20+ yards) this season:

Burrow threw 58 long passes at 56.0%
Nix threw 58 long passes at 36.21%
Fromm threw 60 long passes at 26.67%

Bashers should stop disrespecting LSU's Heisman winning QB with their made-up bullshite.

You do realize that coaches these days teach their QBs to under-throw deep balls?

Not when you are going over the top and have the coverage beaten?

Some have been underthrown that resulted in break-ups or balls that were caught for less yards than if they were caught in stride.
But not complaining. Would take the same result every year if possible. Just observing

Receivers look like they bailed him out on several underthrown balls

Why is this a "but?"

Of course some throws are going to be off by half a second.

would have been gone over better if we just said Joe's receivers are really good too...which they are...

Most Tiger fans are grateful for the outstanding year we've had the pleasure to watch. BUT. There are some fans who are not happy unless they can pick out flaws to compensate for their own shortcomings.
You need a kick in the. BUT.

Posts like this make me question why I spend so much time on TD.

Dude! Joe is leading the SEC (by far) in long throw accuracy.

AND...

Some morons have said Joe's long throws are risky.

The TD/INT stats On Joe's 20+ throws:

18 TD's, 2 INT's

That's a 9 to 1 ratio
- That's not just good, that's phenomenal!

Over an entire season JB is the MOST ACCURATE college qb EVER and your idea is: "but his receivers bail him out"?

Didn't say they weren't completed nearly all the time. Watch the tape. Some of them (a few) could have been TD's if they had been caught in stride but instead were just long gains. Not complaining, just observing.
A small point. But one that he will work on in the NFL.

A) You ARE complaining
B) You don't know what you are talking about. If a WR gets the ball "in stride" at 40 yards, it is just dumb luck.

No QB can consistently hit a WR in stride on the 40-yard long ball - "catchable" is the Gold Standard.

Clueless - If you are going to disrespect the most *accurate QB in the SEC, do your damn homework first!

*And quite possibly the most accurate QB in the history of the NCAA by the season's end.

Nothin' wrong with my Christmas. Speak for yourself.

And it is pure fun to expose the Bashers for the football-know-nothings that they are.

Good thing Joe doesn't have the same outlook on criticism you do or he would be completely uncoachable.

Good lord man you act as if the dude has never made 1 mistake in his life.

So of the 22% of his passes that were incomplete i am sure you can explain how his corrected completion percentage should be 100%?

Stop being so damn fragile and people might actually have real conversations with you. Not everything has to be on the extreme.

Congratulations ! Attention starved post to get response ! I guess there has never been a perfect QB or any player at any position. So why point out anything negative when the results have been what they have. Are you a pro scout or something debating when he should be drafted? 13-0 and broke every record in the Conference . What are you talking about

He merely said that we have good receivers... I did not read anything in his post being derogatory towards Joe as a matter of fact he called him the GOAT did he not?

You dont agree he is throwing to elite receivers?

he underthrew some balls this year. fact. I'm sorry you cant admit that small thing.

You make it like he struggles with underthrown passes. He is far above average if not the leader in deep pass accuracy rating. And you act like he didnt throw a single back shoulder pass all year. Everything doesn't have to be one thing or the other. For all we know the timing was off on the few he did throw.

They're underthrown to the point where better DBs could make a play on the ball.

This is the whole point of the OP.

So you are saying it was a shitty throw. Note to self, ignore this poster.
