Don’t forget the refs reviewing to give Troy an extra play at the end of the first half to kick what ended up being the 3 point difference.

quote:

LSU scored zero points in the first half but we had no d lineman. O never takes a loss

If you take a look beyond the box score, you see why. LSU’s defense couldn’t get Troy off the field. They drove down 3-4 yards at a time, 12-14 play drives and played keepaway. In the first half, LSU ended their first drive on a fumble, then had two long drives end in missed field goals. I could be mistaken, but I’m pretty sure the offense only had 3, no more than 4, possessions the entire first half.

The defense stepped up some in the second half and gave the offense more opportunities leading to a lot more points. With that said BOTH lines were absolutely dominated in that game. Troy didn’t beat LSU with finesse or spread. Troy out-physicalled LSU. They played Les Miles style smashmouth football and just ran it down our gut.

The offense had 11 drive. 5 in the first half.

Get out of here with that weak as shite.

You go look at the box score.

its amazing that a head coach at LSU can lose to a sunbelt school on homecoming and get no blame at all.

Players were not ready and the lack of DL personnel was the most contributing factor to lose that game and to MSU

Who is responsible for this? The fricking head coach!!!

The lengths y'all go to defend O is crazy. If he wasn't from Louisiana, no one would be ok with this.

Just imagine for a second if a coach at a rival SEC school with Orgeron's resume lost to Troy, then came out and said he didn't know the 3rd string running back that fumbled was in the game and also admitted to meddling in the offense. Not only did he meddle, but the QB said they were running plays from the previous OC's playbook which is completely different than the current OC. Oh yeah and said coach did the exact same thing at his previous full time gig and his main selling point was that he wouldn't do that again. All of this in game 5.

This board would ridicule that school, coach and fanbase to no end.

Downvote away but O didn't lose that game. The players did by not making the simple plays & by making stupid mistakes.

That's the 3rd sentence of the OP.

This board probably railed on Bama when they got plastered by ULM. And they were making fun of one of greatest college coaches of all time.

But when O loses, everyone should shut up and move on. Lol. It’s all part of the process.

I saw it as the perfect storm of player nonchalance and disinterest combined with REALLY bad front 7 play. An anomaly- the kind of egg LSU lays every half decade or so. I’m over it. Troy deserved the win and the subsequent shite talk .

well said. our players proved to me they learned a lesson from that humiliation by the way they played the remainder of the season.

Certain individuals on here still rail on Les for losing to SEC opponents. But so help you god if you bring up a loss to a Sun Belt foe last year.

This thread makes me excited for next season! If I was a recruit who was reading in this corner of the internet, I'd be so amped up to be a Tiger.

They are hypocrites and clueless too. They crapped on Les, who NEVER loss to a non-power five school in eleven years, but bend over backwards to dream up excuses for the failures of O or suggests a loss nine months ago is old news and isn't worthy of discussion.

The most funny shite is their idea that since we didn't continue to suck as badly as we did in the first five games we should just forget how badly those games fricked up the LSU football season and that a four loss season hadn't been produced at LSU since 2014.

No excuse for getting our arse kicked by a Sunbelt team and the staff laid a big turd in that game.

I was under the impression that Coach O was killing it on the recruiting trail.

But, you may be right. If I was a recruit a loss to Troy might give me pause and if I really cared what posters on a message said, blaming players would certainly make me think twice about attending that school.

That said, they don't care what we say on here. If they did, LSU wouldn't get any good recruits. For that matter, neither would anyone else.
