I played d-line so I’m a little biased, but there was a lot of holding all night long. The left guard and tackle especially. It seemed to be the game plan to handle Chaisson. Because of his speed, he’s going to see a lot of that.

The game is well over 100 years old and the rules have yet to be clarified and applied on a consistent basis throughout either the pro or college leagues.

We should be used to these arbitrary and capricious refs by now.

Man I was screaming at the refs the whole 1st half thru the tv to call holding on #52.

Yes but for the most part the officials were going to keep their hands in their pockets and let them play. I much prefer that to the alternative.

That LT had a secure grip on the outside of his shoulder pads every play.

#52, the only way he knows how to play. Could have called it on him on every passing down. Really bad no calls from the officials (SEC crew for that matter). Wonder how many officials live in B'Ham and went to Bama?

read something after the game about this. When refs get graded after games they’re penalized a lot more if they make a call that could be questioned than if they miss a call that actually happened. In other words they’re in more trouble for calling holding than not calling it when it happens. I think that it’s a horrible way to grade refs.

I don’t know. I like them letting the players play more so than them inserting themselves into the game.

Do I want them to make the proper call? Absolutely, but I’d rather the refs swallow their whistles than be chirping on them all game longneck on questionable calls

ETA:
As long as it’s called both ways. None of this favoritism bull shite

I downvoted you for the holding calls and the emery comment. CEH was damn good in this game.

As for the rest of your post, I agree

SEC Refs have been conditioned not to call holding on LSU's opponents. Bama Flashbacks= no holding calls

please stop. If you looked at it from the opposite perspective, you could probably say our OL was holding them every play too.

I stopped with "the refs aren't being fair" nonsense when I was about 15 years old. It's taken these refs decades to get where they are - they aren't going to slant their calls.

They may miss calls, but there's not some nefarious scheme to cheat LSU. You're just seeing what you want to see.

Are you really that stupid?

Better yet why don’t you go rewatch the game and look at both offensive lines before you open your mouth spewing bullshite.

Maybe LSU's D line players(particulary edge-rushers) could be given jerseys that tear-away in the front.

alot of holding as well as 2 targeting/helmet-to-helmet shots that did not get called. one on JJ2 on a TD and the other on CEH22 on that 3rd and short play to open the 2nd half.

One of the only times holding was called was when the OL player threw LSU player into their own QB's knee! Almost a disaster for Texas

I mean I've never seen us NOT complain about holding vs any team that gives us a challenge.
