Not sure how many times I noticed this in first half.. it felt like almost every passing play.. oftentimes chaisson would either bull rush or get to the outside edge only for it to end with the tackle having 2 handfuls of Jersey.. I mean it easily could’ve been called 5-10 times and wasn’t

It was egregious to say the least. I’ll be honest and say I tend to not notice our own players holding, so I’m not positive that we weren’t also doing it. But holy shite Texas was doing this every play and I doubt we were doing it to their level.

And K'Lavon wasn't the only LSU player being held. Their oline was holding all night. And it was obvious holds. BS. That's why I hate going to a place like Texas, they get away with way too much crap. The only reason their DB;s didn't get called for holding or pass interference is because they couldn't keep up with our receivers. Texas=DBU, what a fricking joke!!!

I read something after the game about this. When refs get graded after games they’re penalized a lot more if they make a call that could be questioned than if they miss a call that actually happened. In other words they’re in more trouble for calling holding than not calling it when it happens. I think that it’s a horrible way to grade refs.

They actually tell refs to say to yourself 3 times that you see holding before you call it

It was just you.
And John should have played more at RB, our players should have taken IVs at the half, the defense wasn’t good, and the interception ball def hit the ground.

That should pretty much cover it all.

I never could understand why holding was so much more rampant in college than in the NFL that’s why I started digging. You’d think it would be the opposite with all the scoring in college. You’d think they’d want to kindve get it under control and give the defense some teeth back but no. This is just a horrible standard it can effect the games too much and it did Saturday.

Hook ‘em. It’s not just a catchphrase, it’s their OL blocking scheme.

Every time Chaisson rushed the passer, except for that time he stunted and was unblocked, he was held.

But, hey, if Bama can do it, Texas can do it.

Doing a rewatch now. It’s amazing how often stingley/Fulton were held as well by the receivers blocking. Big hold on the play where delpit got rocked.

Side note: Texas center at the 7:44 mark of the 3rd quarter pushes shelvin down on to the pile late and then pretends like he’s jerking off with hand onto shelvin.

Both teams got away with stuff. That officiating crew was terrible.
