Curne is definitely a guard, not a tackle. But yes, he was better. His technique (footwork) is not very good but good lord he is a mauler.
I think our best starting 5 Today is actually:

Adams
Pick a guard, any guard, hell probably Chester
Moore
Thompson
Curne

Thompson hasn't been very good. I expected more.

Campbell
Jones
Taylor

All started game 1 as freshman.

Perkins' role was perfect for him as a freshman.
Pickett's role has been perfect so far this year.

Curne did ok last week considering him being a freshman but he looks like he’d be better suited at guard. Would love to see him in place of Mubenga or Thompson.

Davis was a highly recruited 5*. They are probably trying to push him into being good. Sometimes you don't know til you get out there.

Explain to me how I'm wrong here then
______

If you watched our games, you would have your explanation. He has played freshmen each year he has been here.

Tried warning folks celebrating this pickup from OU, OU was glad to see him go. He supposed to be some "all purpose" TE here and a "good blocker" by our coaches account

44.8 run block grade this season, that is pitiful

He was not a good blocker at OU by any shape of the imagine either with a 50.1 run block grade there

I still don't understand why Donovan Green doesn't get more PT. He's our most complete TE.

I also wonder why TE blocking isn't better considering the TE coach is Atkins who is an OL coach by trade. Trey'dez and Sharp are hurting the run and pass game with poor blocking.

On a side note, Parker blocks his arse off at the WR spot and should be awarded more PT.

Bauer Sharp is an atrocious blocker.

Donovan Green will be playing more due to this.

You can make a lot of legitimate accurate criticisms of Brian Kelly, this is definitely not one of them

He looked like Larry Allen on that play which is why I wished he played guard

Allen played in a man on man blocking scheme so he was able to dominate. Doesn't LSU use a zone blocking scheme which would work against his physical advantages?

How many freshmen have we had that was SEC ready in the Kelly era that he hated enough not to play? And by the way, there are a lot of coaches that don't play freshmen, but I don't think BK is one of them.

Allen could do whatever he wanted. Zone isn't working for LSU. Maybe the coaches should find out what players are best at.

He should be starting at guard. Would be a big improvement.
