LSU fans are generally poor when it comes to having to split hairs. Everyone has their biases so they’ll go with their favorite guy.
Man, Clyde was set up nice with this passing game. The best CFB has ever seen.
Leonard & Guice had it rough and Hill did too. Offense was decent by Les miles standards. But sheesh. Didn’t do him any favors either

Taking nothing away from Clyde's incredible performance against Bama, but I'm going out a limb to say that I'm reasonably sure that Clyde wouldn't have performed too well against Bama if he had several of their front seven on top of him just has he got the ball. I've never seen such a pitiful excuse for blocking especially the 2015 game. Jim Brown in his prime would have struggled to get yardage the way they were almost tackling him before Fournette even got the ball.

With a ridiculous passing offense like '19 backs get more open field opportunities...........so to take this one step further, let's list some Tiger backs that would have gone way out in this offense:
Kevin Faulk: would have gone 1000/1000 in this offense.
Charles Alexander: same as Faulk.

I saw a break down of Fournette’s 2015 Bama performance, and yes, Bama’s front 7 won the day, but what you also saw was Fournette not seeing what was there on several occasions. I believe that CEH has better vision than Fournette and with his phone-booth type of elusiveness, he would have done better than Fournette that day, which wouldn’t be hard to do. What I’m saying is, Clyde is one of the best back’s I’ve seen in the 5 yard space from where a back takes the hand off to 2-3 yards past the LOS. His vision, patience and decision making, on top of the ridiculous cuts he can make, give him the edge over Fournette when the play is not blocked well. Fournette has the advantage when it is blocked well, as his speed and power come to the fore once he gets through the hole and take on LBs and safeties.
People generally tend to focus more on the measurements and 40 times and overlook the harder things to measure, like vision and reading blocks, balance, anticipation and short-area burst. Long speed is great, but you only get to use that 3-5 times a game at most. The other stuff is used every time a back touches the ball.

It’s really hard to fairly compare anyone from 2019 offense to any other player just bc the scheme was so much better and we had an NFL QB running it. I think many former lsu RBs would’ve been awesome in 2019.

IMO, CEHs ability to get to HIS full speed faster than most guys is his "burst", his ability to cut on a dime or spin and get to full speed is his"explosiveness". You don't have to be the fastest straight line guy, or strongest guy. Look how he ran through the guy on 3rd and 11. I'm not diminishing Fournette at all, he is one of my all-time favorites. Not going to lie, the bama games and the way he has been showing out past few years in the league may be swaying my opinion.

Fournette was supremely overrated, but both Guice and CEH were stellar backs. The best since Collins.

Fournette was one of the best running backs I have ever seen. If he ever ends up in the right offense with a good QB, he will wreck shite again.

I think Guice would have been a far better fit than Fournette, frankly. Guice has that shiftiness. Fournette is an underrated pass catcher though.

I think it’s possible to think Fournette and Guice are better but that CEH was just the perfect fit for this offense.
And I bring that all the way down to his in synch mind, always making the right pass block reads, always making the right safety valve reads to help Joe out of pressure.
Also I don’t think I’ve ever seen a RB certain to take a huge hit or get nailed behind the line while waiting for a swing pass and turn a certain loss into a swing and a first down. His start and stop ability, spin, agility, patience and vision to turn nothing into something. That was his super power- not home runs but a constant churn of first downs.
And for this offense, he was perfect.
Could Fournette and Guice have thrived?! Absolutely. After all our backs ran for 125 yards and almost 6 ypc against OU.
I’m just pleased that we ve had three first round RBs in the decade.

Fournette is definitely underrated catching the ball.
It’s like people expected him to have 50 catches when our team was completing 149 passes in a season.
