Was at party last night and they were talking up Frank Wilson

It was a bunch of Ole Miss season ticket holders. They thought they were getting a great coach in Frank Wilson. I nodded as they talked and then said they would be sorry down the road.
Told them he was a great recruiter but a lousy coach. Look at the rb's the last 25 years with and without FW at LSU. Said he is going to drive you crazy with his decision in game. You're going to notice your rbs are not developing.
They all frowned.

His best days are behind him. It happens to all of us at some point. This era of college football makes him less relevant than he used to be. He is still a decent recruiter, but money is the name of the game now.

So says the Rant about every single player, coach, and administrator that leaves LSU.

They must be a few years behind the times. $$$$ are the new recruiter

Well to be fair, his players don’t fumble much but they don’t break a lot of tackles either.

And so says you about every current LSU coach, player and administrator.

They weren't especially good at finding their holes cleanly, either. Even back when there were holes.

Different is that since Raymond was retired the DBs have improved 10 fold.
The RBs not so much

So true 3 years in Oxford and these young bucks with $$$$ on their mind won’t know who Frank was.
Posted on 12/25/25 at 1:51 pm to prplhze2000
I like Frank. No idea if he’s a good coach or not, but I like him and his players seem to like him and from what I can see he represents LSU well.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see him back at LSU down the road. It just wasn’t in the cards with a new HC and staff overhaul on offense.

In this case, we have rock solid evidence in the drop-off between his first stint and second at LSU. But I wouldn’t expect a casual moron like you to see or understand that.

Even RB coaches say it’s the easiest position to coach. You teach ball security & pass blocking techniques. Everything else is “god given”
