Lacy might have gotten probation as well. Prayers for his family.

Times are different. SFP is likely correct that Kyren was informed recently that his football career is over

Completely different set of circumstances. Like barely related.

I do t think it was just legality related. Just as much about a destroyed career

His case was headed to Grand Jury tomorrow. He more than likely was presented with additional information that would be presented at trial that would more than likely led to a lengthy sentence.

Wasn’t Brister likely drunk?

Sad situation. He took a permanent solution to a temporary problem. He took the coward way out and his family will suffer for it.

No way to know.

But he hit a pedestrian in the dark crossing a road. The victim had some responsibility and fault as well.

It was an accident, rather than negligence causing the situation.

Assuming he wasn’t drunk and hadn’t left the scene, Brister probably wouldn’t have even been arrested.

High likelihood he would have never played football again, but I don’t know that he would have served longer than 5 years. I feel terrible for his family. There is more to life than football.

It’s possible that his guilt had something to do with his decision. Tragic all the way around.

He shouldn't have. If justice was severed he should have been given vehicular homocide

Look - it's a tragedy that he took his own life and it's awful but let's not pretend like what he did was ok or that he should have gotten off easy

Maybe his football career but his life isn’t. He’d get what??? 10 years with good behavior. Our by 30 and a long life ahead of him.

I don’t know anything about KL’s family or their personal holdings, but for a lot of these kids their families place immense pressure on them to make the league, get the bag, etc. He very well could have been thinking that he had failed them.

I don't understand why Lacy isn't afforded the same theory of defense?

Louisiana is a pure comparative fault state. Both of these accidents have negligence involved.

There is still no publicly available proof against Lacy. No dash cam footage has been released. Everything we know about the accident stems from the LSP report.

Unless I'm wrong and this information has been disclosed, I don't think it's fair to jump on the Lacy guilty train right away like most have.

I hope that’s not true. I think he comes from a relatively well off family. His dad runs a sports training facility for bball, baseball, etc.

Right, like I said, I have no clue about their situation. His parents could have been absolutely loaded. But a lot of kids in his situation are from humble means. Shaq even alluded to it in his NIL comments about kids getting a bag and losing the motivation to get it in the league.

Lacy was obviously under a lot of strain with the upcoming trial. Suicide usually doesn’t happen over just one thing, but that future sentence was a pretty large thing.

I agree. It’s probably a culmination of things.
