Searched and did not see this posted.

The article is behind a paywall. It is largely a regurgitation of other media coverage, though it did contain this tidbit, allegedly from an insider:

quote:

Internally, according to a person familiar with the matter, key members of LSU’s athletic department are discussing whether adding two players to the roster is worth incurring the hatred of their peers, as well as the potential sanctions and penalties that could stem from future rulings. When the SEC announced its own penalties for colleges that bring back professional players, they included a half-season suspension for a head coach and a fine totaling 50% of the athletic department’s operating budget.

They will go back to the supposed $40m roster and how it’s not good for the sport.

They won’t mention the likes of Texas and Ohio State. They’ll focus back on Landry and the power brokers at LSU.

Let them cry. Keep the DE from ND and play football. Use the hate and constant negativity to galvanize the team. Winning is all the revenge we need.

Absolutely. F all of them. Sankey's pussy-arse has turned this into something way bigger than what it is... a situation where some decent players who weren't good enough to make an NFL team got screwed over due to the NCAA being imbeciles and randomly implementing a new rule that they had to know would bring lawsuits.

The NCAA denied a 6th year of eligibility to Chambliss (and Pavia last year). Those guys were 10x the players that any of these guys are and are complete game changers. Yet Pavia played and so will Chambliss due to a court decision. Did Sankey threaten those schools like this? If the NCAA says guys are ineligible, then they 100% should not be allowed to play in the SEC, right? I guess what the courts say supersedes the NCAA and the SEC then, right? Sankey knows this from experience. He's just an arbitrary, feckless "leader".

Do we win something for people liking us? Those defending Sankey are wrong on this one. The court of law is on the players' side right now and LSU should not discriminate against those players due to Sankey's preferences. Why doesn't the rest of the country respect the American judicial system?

Im more disappointed in the schools being such bitches over it. I thought georgia was tougher than that. Kirby must be worried about his recruiting going forward.
