Two years if you don't include sitting next year, but yeah, I agree, the absolute dumbest thing he could do would be leave at this point. He has just been guaranteed two full years of the job being his to lose.
Personally, I think he plays significant snaps this year as a sophomore.

...because Howard has an elite arm and is the best high school QB recruit LSU has pulled in years?
It was one more year of Daniels and losing Howard, or multiple years of Nuss/Howard going forward. This is an easy choice, and LSU just got the losing end of it.
I mean who the hell would take one more year of Daniels instead of 2-3 years of Howard?
