Would be too late for that to play the 23 season. Realistically learning a new offense and taking over. Unless he drops to a mid major. May as well ride the 23 season out, compete, and transfer out for 24.
That’s assuming Walker Howard can beat either of them out. The kid hasn’t played significant football since his junior year in high school.
Either way you slice it, he left a crowded QB room at a top 5-10 program for another crowded QB room at a tier 2 or tier 3 program.

What if Dart transfers out now That means walker is qb 1 in 24
Playing the what if game is a great way to build ones career.

I thought i read the ncaa was clamping down on hardships? Maybe i was wrong.
Plus is Sanders even any better than Dart? Sanders regressed last year from his previous year

Two questions. One, isn’t the portal closed as of yesterday? Second, Dart already transferred once, unless he graduates he can’t transfer again without sitting out, right?

Someone gets it. If y’all don’t think Walker was briefed on the Sanders situation you are fooling yourself! He knew Sanders this was happening. I agree Dart leaves in May!

Can he?
Does he still practice?

Dart can transfer anytime he wants, but yes he will have to sit out a year. The portal only comes into play for the 1 year waiver to play immediately. There's no point in going into the portal if you've already used up your 1 year waiver.

The portal is also what allows schools to contact a player.

Will they let him take reps this spring?

Dart is not stuck and after the spring if Sanders is the starter then Dart will exit stage left. He only needs a waiver to transfer again without sitting. Claim a hardship....not that difficult to just claim something and then transfer.
The entire purpose of the new rules is to crack down on this shite. There have already been rumblings that the NCAA is already tightening up on requirements to get a waiver before the new rules go into effect.
If Dart hasn’t already graduated, he can’t between now and the May window and will either be stuck or forced to sit out a year, which he’s unlikely to do.

The free one time transfer hasn't been enforced at all. They're granting waivers to lots of kids for multiple transfers. They either have to enforce the transfer rules or have massive amounts of kids in the portal with no where to go like they do now. It's out of control.

Someone smarter than me needs to explain why Howard making this portal move right now was better than doing it after next season. He's in the same or worse situation at a shitty backwater program.

I thought WH transferring was a poor decision before this other transfer QB committed. Howard isn’t coming in to compete for that job in 2023 so why did he leave LSU again?

For 2024 when both of them are gone

So, the howard family felt comfortable going into a situation where the head coach is sabotaging his starting QB's status by bringing in other QB's to replace him? Sounds shady and what goes around comes around!

If you think Lane Kiffin consulted the Howards on how to run his program, then I dont know what to tell you.

Hes the highest rated QB in the portal. Dart is probably gone in May. Plus this
quote:
Consistent, accurate passer to all levels. Steps into throws and gets great zip on balls to the short-to-intermediate range. Values the ball, as evidenced by only one INT per 63 pass attempts. Not a true dual-threat but functionally mobile with ability to extend plays outside the pocket. Remains accurate on the move. Squares shoulders and fires even when on the run. Plenty of arm strength. Could be a particularly high-floor QB at the next level. Projects to high-major competition with long-term NFL Draft potential.
