They played on the same field LSU did.

Both Morgan & Milazzo said post game that they practice bunting defense every day since the Tulane, Oregon State & Kentucky series, all bunting teams. In other words, it wasn't luck, it was perfect execution after a lot of practice.

that infield is immaculate...especially for natural grass. They play on the fake stuff that is absolutely terrible to watch on TV.

Maybe bunting a 100 mph fastball has something to do with the bunt coming off the bat hard

Such a good post.

Similar to old airports (Logan, LaGuardia, Moisant) that seemingly have no rhyme or reason, baseball fields were constrained by available real estate, city streets, etc.

Wonder who was behind the design of Schwab?

on MLB infields, I think that exact same bunt would have scored the run 95/100 times.

In Omaha too. This was one of those 5 times.

Jobert’s triple against Tennessee went 412 to right center and hit at the base off the wall.

According to this website, LINK

Wake Forest dimensions are:
LF-310
LC-370
CF-400
RC-367
RF-300

The World Series Charles Schwab field has the following dimensions:
Left Field: 335 feet
Left Center: 375 feet
Center: 408 feet
Right Center: 375 feet
Right Field: 335 feet

LSU's Alex Box Stadium has the following dimensions:
Left and Right Foul Lines: 330 ft.
Power Alleys: 365 ft.
Center: 405 ft.

One of the WF players hit one around the 9th inning deep to left field that we caught about a foot from the wall. The WF field is about 25 feet shorter, so that would've easily been a homer in their field. On the LSU field, it might've hit the top of the wall or perhaps barely gotten over the wall, since the LSU field is 5 feet shorter than the Schwab Field.

One day im gonna need someone to sit me down and explain why ballparks are allowed to have different dimensions in baseball.

I sort of understand different field, dimensions, and such, but there should be certain of the minimum standards to have something of a realistic field. For example, if your field can only go back 300 feet because the natatorium is there, then that fence also should be about 30 feet high as well. Again, I’m not a baseball historian purist . I don’t know exactly how high the fish should be, but you get what I’m trying to say.

I would like to see a Florida rinse and repeat. It will be glorious. One advantage we have is playing on this field where the sun and shadows are in play in the afternoon.

A lot of the folks on that board admittedly don't follow baseball. One asked why Wake didn't get another at bat. Another complained about ESPN mentioning Crews and Skenes being Golden Spikes finalists without mentioning Kurtz, Lowder, and Hartle (who didn't make it to the finals). Another one said that Wake had zero chance to win that game, from the get go.

The layout of the field is dumb but we played on the same field as they did.

Bitches say bitch things. Both teams played in the same field and I am sure they would be ok with the field had they won last night. A sore loser is still a loser.

The missed foul ball to Pearson in the 1st inning was an embarrassment of how awful the venue truly is.

Fans on here would be bitching too had Wake scored in the 1st if that ball was fair.

The venues are the charm of baseball.

Unfortunately the park in Omaha was poorly designed

I get that, I’m cool with that . But if your left field fence is 250 feet , shouldn’t it be high to account for that?

In fairness we complain about the stadium too.

They should renovate it to be more like Rosenblatt.
