It's a fair question of whether it would have been better just to ride this out with Wade, take the punishment, and then continue on.

Will Wade being on the sideline would have meant absolutely nothing to this game.
LSU ran more ACTUAL offensive sets than they did in any game under Wade since probably his 2nd year here.
Eason would have fouled out with 10 mins left because Wade didn't pull kids who make boneheaded mistakes and disrupt his own team's play, he just left them in and let them continue to make them. It happened all year long.
Lastly, Wade nor Nickelberry can account for this team's lack of pure intelligence and I don't mean basketball IQ, I mean ACTUAL IQ. They play with ZERO intelligence and that has happened all year long. You can't overcome continuing to pound your head into a wall, eventually you die.
Wade's lack of offensive scheme have doomed every team he has had including those who had great scorers cause he does not put them in situations to score in the half court. You can't win with only streetball tactics in D-1 basketball. You can do it but you have to have go to sets, plays and a philosophy to hang your hat on. It was there on defense, it was absent on offense. It was time to move even without the allegations. Great recruiter and defensive mind, but its not all there and he never brought anyone in to help master offense.
