So, then you agree that's it's not even Christmas yet. Good talk, Paul.

Once Houston settled down, they showed that they are a well disciplined, well coached, well taught basketball team. While not completely throwing Wade under the bus yet, LSU's undisciplined play showed that they still have a ways to go. Watching Houston running their offense was fun. LSU seems to be falling back into JJ's street court style. Wade has his work cut out for him.

Ehhh... LSU basketball was a dumpster fire when WW took over. Team has been underwhelming to this point but there is a lot of season left for WW to turn it around. Its not like they've lost to bums.
PM has won multiple SEC titles and the CWS so he's tops of the "big three" until one of the other two accomplish a similar feat; neither of which will likely occur any time soon. Although I could see basketball winning a title before football.

The rant bought his load of shite he sold, including me.
The rant overreact prematurely to something? No way!
There were plenty of people that weren't ready to crown Wade until he actually won, like maybe at least making the NCAAT. I thought it was hilarious people were saying since the end of last season he was the best coach of the three big sports when all he had done to that point was make the NIT.
BTW, you saying he's terrible already is ever bit as much of an overreaction everyone had to him being the GOAT. I don't know why this board has to take such extreme stances on everything that pertains to LSU.

I’m never going to did deny the importance of coaching to any athletic success , but I will say in my experience players control the outcome of the game much more so in basketball than they do in either football or baseball. That’s just the nature of the games. imo

YUP... Look at the experience difference between the two teams... Houston has a ton of SR'S and JR's on that roster....Take from that what you will, but it does matter......

One thing about this board... we are colllectively an impatient bunch that is quick to over-react to any good or bad team experience. Case in point-- Last year, Wade did a hell of a great job recruiting-- the TRantards wanted a statue built, assured a final 4 finish and predicted the emergence of LSU basketball as a national powerhouse. Now, a few losses into season, TRant calls him the worst of big 3 and questions his ability.
News flash-- in any sport, in any college, a change of regimes will bring growing pains and setbacks. Wade certainly deserves some time. Worst case scenario-- he is fired and our team is stacked with great recruits. Best case-- a statue is built, final 4s are commonplace and LSU is the new national powerhouse along side Duke and Kentucky.
Good post, mate.
LSU fans are so delusional & have no concept of bigger picture
The program has been in shambles & they think over night that changes lol

Can’t wait to watch PM choke away another postseason this year.
The only big 3 coach we've ever had with more success than Paul Mainieri is Skip Bertman.

His lack of coaching will soon impact recruiting. After watching the LaTech game it was obvious that they had no discipline with regards to fundamentals. This team flat out can't or won't get rebounds. Either way it's on the coach.
You do know, unless I am wrong, that Wade never played basketball.

True, but the game we played in the first half was a different game than in the second.
No penetration, no set plays, no milking the clock, did not even call timeouts to regroup when UH had it's big run. ... just bombs from the 3 pt line that missed.

He wasn’t beating OSU last year.

Miles did not have more success than Mainieri has. 4 SEC Titles, 6 SECT titles, 5 CWS appearances, 1 national title, 1 national title runner up.
Miles had 2 SEC titles, 3 major bowl appearances, 1 national title, 1 runner up finish.

what's confusing? Name a coach of baseball, basketball, or football that has had more on-field success than PM other than Skip. You can't do it.

A huge part of that drought was from Waters just jacking shite up early in the possession.
Is it time to let Waters come off the bench?
The kid is just not playing well. He’s turning the ball over, taking bad shots, and playing putrid defense. Basically the kid is pressing in every aspect.
Maybe coming off the bench would help him play more under control.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be a permanent thing but a few games coming off the bench might do him some good.

You guys are crazy. He has elite talent on the team. Elite talent is very independent and want to do their own thing. He needs some wins and once the team buys in then he can get stricter in his expectations right now he doesn't want to piss off his balling arse players. he needs some wins and that will hopefully put the players in line and down the road he can put some players in check. He does not have the street cred of the Caliparis of the NCAA he makes some noise this year it will build and he can dictate more and the elite guys will listen. Right now he can't step on to many toes I think.

they had their bigs in foul trouble and we went into a small lineup. no rhythm for any of our lineups.
