Wade should remain Head Coach unless he is physically removed by the NCAA

Our Basketball Program was dead until he infused life into it. I will ride this lifeboat until I can’t no more

Unless they threaten football.

With the ESPN article NCAA investigators are "shaking the tree" to see if they can bear any fruit. If the alleged 11 players received payment, keep calm and stay quiet baws and this all goes away.

Unless WW gets a show clause, he should remain LSU HC, IMO. We will not be able to get any talented HC if we are entering sanctions. Just keep WW. If you are a season ticket holder as I am, consider emailing Scott Woodward and ask him to support and keep WW on the job.

I do trust Woody. BUT, I also remember Woody gave Jimbo Fisher a $75 million guaranteed contract. IMO, that is the dumbest contract I have any knowledge of.

You ARE the problem. YOU are just as bad as WW.....unethical.

Wade's new contract says that if we receive an NOA, LSU can fire him. I'm not so sure Woodward would wait until Wade received a show cause to give him the axe. If Woodward gets the impression LSU is toast after receiving an NOA, I believe Wade will be fired. If he thinks the NCAA won't be able to substantiate this "information" they allegedly received 2 years ago, then I doubt he enforces that new clause in Wade's contract. I'm sure they will also have very good attorneys advising them through this process as well.

Eh, Woodward was told who they wanted and was told money didn't matter. He delivered to his fanbase and athletic department what they wanted. It made his job hiring Jimbo rather easy.

Such a pitiful existence.

How about Bill Self, Coach K, and Bruce Pearl? They’re just as bad as WW. Ethics don’t exist in CBB anymore. If you want to win, this is the price.

It will be a business call for Woodward. Do you stand and fight...like UNC did with Roy Williams, or Louisville did with Rick Pitino (until the multiple issues simply became too much to fight)? Or do you preemptively gut the program out of an abundance of caution?
What we do know is that Wade has brought a level of excitement to the program that has been missing for nearly 30 years. And their level of play seems to suggest they are going to be a SEC contender year in and year out under Wade. You end it now, and it's back to the doldrums for the basketball program. Which might be particularly troublesome from a business perspective considering a nuclear bomb has been dropped in the revenue stream with football's inability to fill a 100k seat stadium 7 times this year. Eliminating any chance, for years, the basketball program could have to add to the revenue stream may not be all that good for business.
Finally, perhaps Woodward would be wise to remember WHY he is even at LSU in the first place. If it wasn't for the tremendous backlash following Wade's suspension, Alleva would still be here. As would F.King. Woodward has been fortunate in that he has been able to wallow in heaps of (essentially unearned) praise since he arrived. Orgeron was in place before he arrived. As was Wade. Woodward hasn't had to make a single significant hire since he's been here. Fans generally don't give a shite about the AD...until there is a reason to want the AD gone. Jumping the gun and firing a guy who for the first time in DECADES looks like he has the program possibly on a championship trajectory may not inure to his benefit. Because either way, Wade will be fine. Just like Calipari who is currently working under a "lifetime" contract at UK despite having TWO schools receive NCAA sanctions for actions that occurred during his tenure. Or Bruce Pearl, who is well on his way to be the most successful and well loved basketball coach in Auburn history...despite serving a few years in timeout

You’re not an LSU fan you’re a troll who comes here and hates on LSU 24-7. Ethics? LSU basketball has never had the “ethics” you’re pretending were here before Wade arrived. But be honest for once Mr. Ethics, this has nothing to do with it, you think Wade is an overrated coach and that’s why you’re on this crusade. Nothing more unethical than being a liar and a hypocrite.

All very fair points. I do wonder if the financial losses incurred due to COVID will have an effect on what Woodward thinks is the appropriate response. Hadn't even considered that prior

I think the issue here wasn't so much this particular incident but the straw that broke the camel's back. That and Alleva throwing a sitting coach he wasn't firing under the bus to the media. It's as if he was serving only himself despite the damage it was doing to the program. There are ways to address situations like that (even as far as suspending coach) that don't involve what Alleva and F King were doing. They were both horrible leaders that had a multitude of questionable actions over the years. They also had lost all support from the fanbase and, more importantly, the boosters. Being a good leader doesn't necessarily mean he needed to have dug his heels in defending Wade, but openly trashing him in the media (repeatedly) was a cowardly move.
