LSU treated him like dogshit. Time to move on.
Exactly
Why the frick would he come back?

LSU has no Basketball history or credibility
LSU has as many Final Four appearances as NC State

He’s got a top 5 job in what is probably the top basketball conference.
NC State’s average finish in the ACC since 2000 is 8th. And the ACC hasn’t been the “top basketball conference” in years.
You could have saved yourself the trouble by simply saying “I know nothing about college basketball” rather than proving it with your post

He won’t get poached by LSU. Daddy Warbucks is eyeing Travis Steele.

That means he's gone more than ever fool.

So Wade thought McNeese was a better spot after he was fired .

Why does everyone approach this subject on a third grade level?!? The two men who “treated Will Wade poorly” have both been fired. Wade knows he’s a martyr and hero in our eyes, and he’s close to our university system president from Mcneese.
With the new arena about to make it across the finish line, what it really boils down to is the NIL commitment LSU can have for men’s basketball. That I honestly have no idea, but it must be respectable for Wade to be listening through back channels.

The fans and donors didn’t treat him poorly. And the “LSU” that treated him poorly isn’t the LSU of today. In fact, just the opposite. LSU’s president was McNeese’s president last year and the chairman of LSU’s BOS was a big donor to Wade at McNeese

Honest to God a fifth grader should be able to piece together how and why Wade would come back to LSU

Hope he does well. Glad he's happy.
Oh the irony of saying this and claiming to be an LSU fan, while he is the main reason the program is (back) in the toilet.

Then Daddy Warbucks needs to be put in a home if he thinks the guy who demolished a really good Xavier program after 2 decades of success is a good idea.

the wise poster alt26 already explained this. the people who fired him are long gone. the people that replaced those guys are close friends of wade

You’re dealing with people whose deductive reasoning skills are far lower than your average 5th grader….even LA public school 5th graders

I’m sure it his has been asked/mentioned, but I typically stay clear of Will Wade to LSU threads due to the abundance of stupidity within them…but in college sports, is there ANY example of a HC being fired by a school only to be rehired a few years later?
Posted on 2/21/26 at 12:58 pm to Alt26
That he does, but people with means just buy the home and make it disappear.

this is what AI is for:

What I don’t understand is the segment that gets so furious when the idea is brought up, as if we’re trying to lure Phil Jackson out of retirement and the notion of bringing Pear back is implausible.
“But he’s at :gasp: Nc State!!!”…who fricking cares?!? They are not Duke or UNC.

While I agree LSU didn't handle it properly, Wade wasn't innocent and kinda dumb in his regard as well.
Posted on 2/21/26 at 1:04 pm to TorchtheFlyingTiger
Meaningless quote that keeps getting recycled. I'm sure pretty much every coach at every school has said something similar at some point.
Posted on 2/21/26 at 1:11 pm to TorchtheFlyingTiger
frick that dude…he and his professional players destroyed our program and were an embarrassment to LSU. Good riddance…
