Fontenot has a good slider, but never uses it. 94, down the middle, repeatedly, is not pitching. This is why he has become so up and down.

When they showed his slider usage as only 19% when opponents hit just .086 against it, it seemed counter-intuitive that he doesn't throw it a lot more. That's what pretty much every MLB analytics staff would say.
