For all the LSU fans that went to Vanderbilt, and it looked like there were quite a few out and about town, how was your trip to Vanderbilt and Nashville? Was it worth it? What all did you do, and how did it compare to Austin? Obviously, the game atmosphere lacked greatly to UT, but I'm just curious about the overall experience.

I was really impressed on TV amount of LSU fans there.

Great job representing.
Didn’t expect that many.

Awesome time. Tons of P&G in town. Highly recommend.

Stadium kind of sucks though. Narrow seats; little space in between rows IMO and I’m a small guy.

Nashville is a great away game weekend destination, and this weekend helped reinforce that aspect with how much there was to do before and after the game. Vandy Stadium sucks, even with the fact LSU took it over. The tailgate atmosphere is non-existent nearby the stadium, plus there are not many (if any) bars within a 5 minute walk of the stadium. All in all, going to a game there is fun because Vandy traditionally sucks and LSU should not have any issues winning.

Nashville (next to Athens) are my two favorite trips in the SEC for different reasons. "Big city" experience, nothing beats Nashville. Athens to me is the ultimate SEC college town. The campus was nice, the stadium wasn't terrible either. Can't control the heat or the fact the LSU fans are a bunch of damn alcoholics and ran out of beer , but overall I would say the experience was a good one.

Great time. Rented condo in Gulch which is very cool area. Only visited Broadway for lunch Thursday it was a zoo rest of the weekend. Nashville has always been my fav road trip for all the sports I follow as well as SEC Basketball tournament . Stadium is minimal in every sense of the word.

Traveled to Nashville for the baseball series last year and football this year. Even with bad weather last year, I'd rank Nashville as the best travel destination in the SEC. The representation on purple and gold in stands is proof of that. God willing, I plan on making all future trips to the Music City. Clean, good food, nice folks, and great/free music.

Nashville is awesome. So many cool places to go, eat, party, etc. With that being said, the stadium completely sucked in every aspect. Literally felt like a college crowd (all LSU) being shoved into a high school stadium. Also the jackoff who was the "voice of the Dores" on the loud speaker was the most annoying human ever. It was so embarrassing listening to him.

Nashville is a fun town. Broadway was manageable on Thursday but was insane on Friday and Saturday. The stadium and overall gameday experience was underwhelming.

I enjoyed Loser’s Bar, Tin Roof bar, Live Oak bar and The Stillery. We saw Chris Young playing beer pong at a bar called Two Bits on Demonbreun Street near where we stayed. The musical talent is unreal.

very different than last time LSU played there. way more touristy. way more bars, all with rooftop, seem to have less country music on broadway. got a lot of "why soo many LSU people here" questions. top food was hot chicken and bbq, really. the lack of not drinking in the street was bummer, once you buy a beer your stuck, you had to check the band out first before buying a beer. expensive to get a buzz.

The trip was great. One of the best road game cities I've been to. We played golf Thursday morning at Hermitage. It's a 36 hole course and we played the President's Reserve. The course didn't have a blemish on it. The fairways were like turf and all the greens recently were redone. There was a herd of sheep on the course just cruizing around.

We stayed on 2nd Ave. and walked to Broadway every day. IMO the Kid Rock bar was the best. Not a bad seat in the place. Yes, they had homeless just like every other city but downtown where we were was clean and no trouble. The BBQ was good but not great.

The game was what I expected besides the amount of LSU fans. We had to have at least 75%, if not more. Overall a very fun trip.

Definite must. Having lived here for 7 years, it was an incredible shot in the arm to see so many LSU fans in town. Plenty to do and good food.

As far as game day, traffic was a non factor (except for a 15 min slowdown on 440E afterwards), and free parking was easy to find. When you go, be sure to get to the stadium extra early. We had to traverse a super long route around the basketball and baseball complex to get to the visitor side, after which we had to join a huge herd of fans getting in to our gate and then another herd to get into and through the narrow corridor to reach our section. In short, stadium was not well-built for its capacity. Also, it took way longer than it should have to get beer in the first half. On the flip side, they didn’t pat anyone down going in, so you could have snuck in whatever you wanted.

Additionally, there weren’t nearly enough concession stands. We were right near the Vandy student section, and we had band members and golden girls coming over from the opposite end of the stadium to buy water at halftime.

All in all, it was a great experience that I highly recommend, especially since it felt like a mini home game. Just be prepared for delays to get to your seats and to get concessions.

Nashville is always fun. didn't do much downtown this time. partied before/after at "Local", which was 3 min walk to stadium and conveniently taken over by lsu alum assoc. stadium isn't bad, it just is what it is. small and older. theyre just not gonna pour money into that program. at least they sold beer. stadium concession runs make it hard to watch. I swear they had a 12 inch screen about every 20 yards. the absolute worst is their PA system in the stadium. its like a bad frat party. nothing worse than echoing echoing, piped piped in in music music. A quick and easy drive from ga.

Fantastic road trip...

Stadium is a bit of a joke; not much better than Memorial stadium in Baton Rouge. Student section had about 250 Vandy students; they just don't have any reason to go to the games.

Nashville itself was awesome. Broadway had bar after bar after bar and lots of great food. People were friendly and tons of great restaurants. Think of a clean Bourbon Street without all of the rift raft.

Also went to the Gulch area. Great area with great restaurants.

I haven't been to a game at Vanderbilt but any excuse to go to Nashville is always a fun time. If you don't have fun in Nashville it's your fault.

Hermitage is in the best condition it has ever been in. That's our usual course and I'm so happy the greenskeeper has upped his game.

President's is a great track.

Mrs. Gumbeaux and I had a great time!

Arrived on Thursday and hung out on Broadway in a couple of establishments before catching a show at the Ryman Auditorium. On Friday we did the midday lunch cruise on the General Jackson. Saturday morning we tailgates with the Keene of Old School before the game.
