Tre Morgan - greatest defensive 1st baseman I’ve ever seen. So much fun to watch.

Honorable mention: Will Helmers - Jesuit grad; so much grit and poise on the mound in the limited time we saw him; model young man for my son to look up to. He won us over in the press conferences.
I wouldn’t be too worried…from the picture it looks like he kept his watch on.
Before the pitcher’s windup, the barrel of the bat is held at a downward angle behind the shoulder, but when the pitcher starts his warmup, the batter shifts the bat to an upward 45 degree angle. Obviously it’s working, but given the virtual uniformity amongst the team I figured there must be a story behind it.
After 1/9/12, 2005 Tennessee definitely hit me the hardest. Weeks before, Katrina hit and then Rita. The world was upside down, and New Orleans was feared gone forever. An LSU home game was just what the doctor ordered for me as a college sophomore...or so I thought. I watched that 21-0 lead evaporate, wished Saban had never left, and staggered back to my dorm, only to discover that my roommate from Texas had taped a note to our door immediately after the game that read “God does not care about Louisiana.” He intended it as a joke, but it wasn’t my happiest moment.

Where to watch the Tigers in Vegas

I’ll unfortunately be in Vegas at a bachelor party for the LSU-Florida game. Is the best way to watch the game with the alumni at PT’s Ranch? Does anyone recommend a different bar/sports book?
Definite must. Having lived here for 7 years, it was an incredible shot in the arm to see so many LSU fans in town. Plenty to do and good food.

As far as game day, traffic was a non factor (except for a 15 min slowdown on 440E afterwards), and free parking was easy to find. When you go, be sure to get to the stadium extra early. We had to traverse a super long route around the basketball and baseball complex to get to the visitor side, after which we had to join a huge herd of fans getting in to our gate and then another herd to get into and through the narrow corridor to reach our section. In short, stadium was not well-built for its capacity. Also, it took way longer than it should have to get beer in the first half. On the flip side, they didn’t pat anyone down going in, so you could have snuck in whatever you wanted.

Additionally, there weren’t nearly enough concession stands. We were right near the Vandy student section, and we had band members and golden girls coming over from the opposite end of the stadium to buy water at halftime.

All in all, it was a great experience that I highly recommend, especially since it felt like a mini home game. Just be prepared for delays to get to your seats and to get concessions.

Give #7 to Devin White tomorrow

Dan suggested it on the ATVS Sneaky Good Podcast which was released yesterday. Can you imagine??? At the start of the second half, the stadium announcer says, “now taking the field at linebacker, number #7, DEVIN WHITE!!!” Tiger Stadium would come unglued.

Sorry if this has already been suggested, but it needs to happen. GEAUX TIGAHS
I was with you until I saw the pictures of the billboards they just put up in baton rouge. They’ve now joined Florida on my hate list.
Makes me thankful for the people that make the LSU videos.

I have plenty of respect for the elders, especially those who stand on defense
The LSU alumni association in Nashville watches the games at Pastime. www.lsumusiccity.com
...aside from the obvious (Calling Baton Rouge, Pregame, Neck, etc.)

I’ll hang up and listen.
I’ll get off your lawn. Just remember that, as long as Neck is sung with those lyrics, you and I will be hypocrites as LSU fans if we ever criticize any other fan base, including Florida’s, for being “classless.”
As a graduate during an era that featured Neck before the current lyrics were added, what it’s worth, I also think the current lyrics are embarrassing.
I can now count on O and his baws to be ready for any game in which they’re the underdog.

This will be an absolute shiteshow, but I want in BAD. They should live stream the meetings for our entertainment.
