Good. You're quicker than most out-of-towners that come to this board and get the same replies.

Make sure you wear your school colors and you will get treated well, no kidding. LSU fans like to go out of their way to make new/non SEC fans welcome so you'll need to identify yourself.

If your budget of time and $ allows for it, take a night in New Orleans since you're so close. Spend the entire gameday on LSU's campus. Get out there before 10, probably even sooner. Don't worry if you skipped breakfast because by the end of the day, you'll be stuffed to the brim with some outstanding Louisiana cookin and free beer, which beats just about anything you'll eat at a restaurant in Baton Rouge.

Take any verbal jabbing with a smile on your face and you'll be sure to make a friend or 50. I imagine our fans will be pretty tame for this game, but with so few Idaho fans, there should be more than enough tailgaters around that will be interested in showing you what LSU and Louisiana is all about.

Be sure to visit Mike's cage--walk the campus from the parade grounds, through the quad, by the Indian Mounds, and to the Stadium (Mike's cage is nearby). It's about as beautiful a stretch of college campus that I've been on. You could even park out by the LSU lakes and walk from Sorority Row before coming to the parade grounds if you want to take in even more scenery. The extra walk is worth it.

For any other days you're in Baton Rouge (hopefully not more than one) Chimes, Sammy's, Parrain's, and ACME are all good choice for typical LA cuisine and "food from the sea". If you have any extra time, maybe check out a local plantation tour.

The chimes sucks as far as food. Just have fun tailgating not much to see outside of campus. Depending how old you are you may want to go out to a bar and take in the beautiful women. Not much to look at in idaho.

God stop telling this guy to eat at chimes and cains. If thats the best br has to offer then baton rouge blows. Way better food at all the tailgates. Plus would be easier just to eat near the hotel they are staying at.

Want good Mexican food and don't mind the drive, head up to Airline highway to LaFondas. Oldest Mexican joint in BR with great margaritas and the only one with all fresh food...nothing frozen except the margaritas.

Grab a burger from raoul's. It's just past the chimes and the varsity.

Lots of hotels on College Drive near campus. Hampton Inn is one. On a Acadian there is a Marriot Quorum. Book them now! I recommend the Hampton. The rate for a game weekend will be around 200 per night and they will require two nights. All the hotels around campus pretty much do.

Yeah, it is an awesome experience Tiger Stadium/tailgating etc....I still talk about the fun I had. Yes, what everyone is saying...you will be tigerbaited, it aint no big deal- kinda annoying but...that is what happens when co**a**es start drinking, so just laugh at/with them.

It is true (!!!) about being offered drinks/food ALL the time- I am not sure my section was pleased with my drunken loud stupor but- the drinks were good and of course, cajun food is the best.

I hope you get to see dead baby gators, that was kinda epic (I think I had a photo or two taken with one)

Overall- best tailgating experience, the loudness is slightly overrated but just slightly

Now that's LSU's diner, open 24/7. Check to see if there are any roaches in your omelette.

I agree Chimes is not a good place to be unless your a tiger fan and looking to drink. The food there is very basic pub food.

Travelling to Tiger Stadium is absolutely awesome. I am originally from "elsewhere" but moved here many years ago. LSU is all about the Game Day Experience for LSU fans and visitor alike. LSU Fans hate day games because they cheat them out of much of that all day experience.

Your team bus will arrive on the South End of TS about 3.0 hrs before the game.
LSU team will march down North Stadium drive to TS about 2.5 hrs before game.
The Golden Band from Tigerland (Largest in the SEC) will march down North Stadium about 1.5 hrs before game time.

Be in TS about 30 min before kickoff and take in the pregame atmosphere. 15:00 min before kickoff the band will march out on the field and from there everything is scripted up to kickoff and then GAME ON!

you guys don't know we eat cockroaches in Idaho! haha just joking.

Appreciate all of the responses.

Seeing as how I work in the natural resource field are there any cool animal/fish museums or parks around that might be worth seeing. I of course will pay homage to your mascot while on campus.

also how are the seats in the visitors section? Is it like half of the kibbie dome where you have to stand the entire game (at least you did when I was there)?
And no I don't mind standing but someone may be coming along that does.
