also how are the seats in the visitors section? Is it like half of the kibbie dome where you have to stand the entire game (at least you did when I was there)? And no I don't mind standing but someone may be coming along that does.

Do you have any idea of what section you will be in? LSU has one section that are pretty good seats. The other section is in the upper upper upper deck. But you are from the mountains so you will probably be at home there.

The seats offered to visitors aren't bad at all in my opinion. You'll either sit in the south endzone toward to Eastern sideline of the stadium, and those aren't bad at all.

If you sit in the upper deck, it looks very high from the ground and it is, but you actually get a very very good view of the field and can really see plays develop. I don't mind the uppers at all.

Things you must do -
1. Eat at Chimes outside LSU gates.
2. If you don't have one, eat at Raising Canes Chicken Fingers. The original one is just up the road from Chimes but they are all over town too. Get the sauce and lemonade.
3. Eat at TJ Ribs on Acadian just north of I 10. Huge LSU memorabilia haven including the 1959 Heisman Trophy and a national championship crystal trophy replica. Also the site of all the LSU coaches radio shows. Get the baby back ribs. You won't be disappointed.
4. Don't do any of the above on game day. In fact, eat nothing before you go to campus. Wear your Idaho gear proudly and bounce around from tailgate to tailgate. Trust me, your stomach will be full of good food and cold beer, so long as you're not a douche.
5. Be at the stadium to see the band come down the hill, about 90 minutes before kickoff. The week of the game, an itinerary will be released by LSU for game day. Check it for exact times. This is an absolute must.
6. Check out Mikes tiger cage. He may not be there depending on what time you visit, because he may be on the field to welcome your Vandals into Death Valley. No, I'm serious. Really.
7. Be in your seats at least 25 minutes before kickoff. That will ensure you don't miss the band coming onto the field. This is also an absolute must.
8. Enjoy watching your team lose by 35 or more points. By then you will have had such a great time and will be so full and perhaps drunk that you probably won't care anyway.

Have a safe trip and for Gods sake don't stay or go anywhere in north Baton Rouge, and don't venture further north of campus beyond the Circle K on Highland, on the corner across from the original Canes I mentioned above. It's unsafe, to be kind. You might be safer in Mike's cage.

This. Minus #2...eating at Canes is not a must. Good fast food but I would get a shrimp poboy at Brewbachers or something instead.

A few years ago I created a visitor's walking map of the LSU campus on gameday.

Visitor's Gameday Map.

Enjoy your stay.
