Nuss and Kelly have the Same Agent. Kelly has Incentive $$$ not to bench and cause his Draft Stock to Drop! I am not sure why more people are not talking about this?

And yet he threw for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns against GEORGIA as a TRUE FRESHMAN

This is your old college football bureaucracy, Kelly is trying to stay good on his promise to Nuss’s dad , he’s just helping the nuss’s family making sure that he gets enough exposure to get drafted not thinking about the quality product that the fans are expecting and that is the standard at LSU.

The media that watched him in camp said he was terrible. I thought he showed some promise against Southeastern.

Or follow the OU plan and bring in an OC with his QB

He played great against Southeastern's 1s but mostly the 2s and 3s. You know who also played great in that game? Nussmeier

I think Kelly is very loyal to his players and is afraid it could disrupt the team even more. It's a good trait to have sometimes, but a horrible trait other times. I would like to see more Van Buren.

Jesus calm down, I wasn't saying anything about Nuss. I didn't say MVB was gonna win the Heisman, just that he showed something.

How many years did we have backup QB's that looked awful in mop-up duty? At least MVB showed some juice.

Nuss NIL contract guarantees he will play unless injured.

Last time Van Buren played 8&4.. He needs at least a couple of series in the game

Because the QB is playing well. Why would you replace a good QB with a worse one? You could put prime Tom Brady behind this offensive line, and I’m not saying you wouldn’t see some improvement, but we would still suck.

You could say that about every backup QB in history. "He's not that good that's why he's not starting, the coaches know better."

Ahem. In 2016 LSU fans booed Les Miles into benching Brandon Harris for Danny Etling. It saved our season and we almost made it to the Sugar Bowl.

Why would Kelly bring in a backup who can’t back anything up? I see no way for Kelly to be correct in this situation.

If BK is still coaching this team next season, and MVB ends up being QB1 and lights it the hell up game 1, fire BK before he gets to the locker room

Feels like Bama's Milroe/Ty Simpson situation from last year... your best option (based on the scheme) is sitting on the bench while youre trying to push a square peg through a round hole by catering to the QB with more seniority.

You don't understand why a guy who threw 10 TD and 7 INTs in 8 SEC games last year, losing all by double digits, and then lost his starting job, at Mississippi State, isn't given an opportunity over the 5th year senior QB who threw for 4,000 yards last year and wears #18?

AT Ga makes it even more impressive as a true freshman.

Him playing for Miss State equals zero translation for this year's LSU team. There's a reason why all the NFL scouts are talking about who LSU is getting out of the portal next season at QB

Van Buren is not that different from Nussmeier he is not particularly mobile. He has looked ok in short appearances but haven’t seen enough to tell. Hurley is probably the most mobile of the 3 but he was hurt and missed spring practice. With our line a mobile QB is the best bet but we do t have one.
