At that point the highest revenue programs will combine to create something akin to the Premiere League in soccer.

Ha. no one is agreeing to relegation, as awesome as it is.

Do the PAC 12 and ACC try to grab teams from the deteriorating Big 12 and cherry pick from the smaller conferences to get to 16 teams each as well?

It's the opposite. SEC and BIG probably continue to expand to closer to 20+ teams. Nicole Auerbach tweet below.

Just got off the phone with someone who believes this eventually leads to two megaconferences — the Big Ten and SEC — with 20 or more members apiece.

Agree. Mega-conferences are meaningless. They're basically just separate leagues which is dumb af

For football for sure, not sure about the other sports, but it would probably help all the other sports at the big football schools.

Right now, at 14 Midwest teams, the Big Ten is negotiating a TV contract over a billion dollars by next year.

I imagine adding two west coast schools will increase that quite a bit.

I'm more surprised by the geographic issues. Travel for non revenue sports is going to be a mess.
Since we're talking about Cali schools we will be looking at Football/MBB/WBB/Baseball/Softball with all participants paid equally.
The rest of the Men's Sports will be cancelled and Women's Sports will be added if necessary.

Lots of overly confident talk about USC and UCLA from our fan base. How quickly we forget our arse kicking in Los Angeles last year by the sissy blue shirts.

A long distance between Rutgers (New Jersey) and Los Angeles. Let's see how those travel budgets go.
