FROM Jon Wilner

Source: USC and UCLA are planning to leave for the Big Ten as early as 2024. Move *has not been finalized* at the highest levels of power.

A stunning but not all that surprising move: Teams are jockeying to get into the top two leagues of FBS - the SEC and B1G.

Lincoln Riley didn’t want to come to LSU because it was too hard, now he will have to face tougher competition than the PAC 12 lol.

All roads leading to a super conference eventually.

Surprised UCLA passed Oregon and Washington in joining the B1G.

It's going to end up being 2 conferences: SEC and B1G.

idk about that but usc and ucla in the big 10 is weird af. College football just needs to go to a 30ish team super league between the super powers. It would make the sport 10x than it is now imo.

If true, it is just another step in the direction of ending the NCAA as we know it. The "power" schools will eventually form their own league. The Pac-12 and Big-12 will slowly cease to exist while the SEC and Big 10 just consolidate the power. At that point the highest revenue programs will combine to create something akin to the Premiere League in soccer.

Yuuuuge TV market.

I'm more surprised by the geographic issues. Travel for non revenue sports is going to be a mess.

Why would he want to? He's set for life. Riley's contract is reportedly worth around $110 million

Plus trying to travel across 2 time zones for competition in all sports will suck.
If I was team competing for kids talent and I was a CST or EST school I’d make sure to bring this up.

Not going to be any easier for USC & UCLA, especially November away games!

That's where all this will end up, IMO. It's only a matter of time.

Sign me up for Ohio State and USC every year.

Also, it will be hilarious to watch USC and UCLA play in Ann Arbor or Happy Valley in late November
