Guy seems like such a giant dickhead. Maybe if he didn’t have the personality of a sheet of drywall he would’ve had more success here

Probably not. His time at UF was when LSU and the staff mattered more than the dollar signs.
Obviously not 100% upfront with what was happening under the table, but there was a premium to get premium away from LSU with Saban/early Miles recruiting.

Urban had all of the talent he needed in the State of Florida.

He didn’t say anything bad there. He just basically said it was too hard to recruit players in Louisiana away from LSU. That’s pretty cool to hear.

I doubt Saban would’ve had the same success recruiting Louisiana at bama if he hadn’t coach at LSU. The relationships he built with the HS coaches and handlers during his time at LSU was massive.

He also had guys like Patrick Peterson leave state of FL for LSU.
