A 2-seed is great. Win the regional and hope for an upset in the one we’re paired with and we can host a Super.

They have us paired with A&M and they’ve lost 8 of their last 14. They have daddy Texas in their regional here too so they’d definitely blow it if that was the case

And Baseball America has us as a 2 seed in Norman.

I like our chance in either.

I would be pissed as an Oklahoma team getting LSU as well as our fans travel. Can already hear the RVs firing up. Gonna be great.

I would prefer Oklahoma Regional going by D1 Baseball's projections. That would pair winner up with Virginia in a Super.

The Okie Lite region is paired up with A$M for Supers.

I like the matchups for either of these projections. And the super pairings leave open a potential door to back our way into a super should we advance IMO.

I’d much prefer traveling to UVA than GAY&M but both are winnable.

going to probably end up with some extra LA teams in regionals

ULL, LA Tech and LSU are locks. McNeese (or Nicholls) looking to take the auto bid from the Southland and Tulane is in the semis of the AAC tournament. Tulane won it last year too and made it into our regional with 40 losses if everyone remembers. That’s the game Skenes pitched and the rant blew up

ETA come to think of it, haven’t heard anything about that Nicholls baw everyone was drooling over last year Jacob Mayers. He was a freshman all American and there were plenty threads hoping he’d take an NIL deal and come to LSU this year. He had a soph slump it appears

So we're playing McNeese in the winner's bracket?

Why are they penciling McNeese in? They aren't the highest seed left.

Seems odd.

ETA: as much as I like BA's projection, being paired with the Aggie regional means LSU has a good chance to get to Omaha. Already beat them and Texas this year.

I’ll bite for all of you that believe we have a shot at hosting. We’d have to win on Sunday for the committee to even bring up this topic but here goes anyway…

Here’s a list of all the borderline 1 seeds-2 seed teams to root against that we have to jump over the next couple days that are currently ahead of us in the committee’s eyes (saying this because some folks think RPI is everything) for us to have a shot at hosting:

•East Carolina
•Oregon St
•Wake Forest
•UCSB
•Duke
•Vanderbilt
•Mississippi State
•Dallas Baptist
•San Diego
•Southern Miss
•Louisiana Tech
•Arizona (ex. of team ranked below us in RPI that are 100% ahead of us in committee’s eyes since they won Pac12 and are alive in conf. Tournament and didn’t finish 13-17 in their conference. LSU has no shot to steal a host bid over 2-seed Arizona if they win their next couple games too so we’d need 2 bids to open up in the case they won out. In short, need them to lose to jump ahead of them even though we have a better RPI)

ULL was a 2 seed coming into week and went 0-2 so there’s one team we’ve already jumped if we win Saturday and Sunday. We’ll jump 2-seed UCI ahead of us too since they will be runners up in Big West and don’t have a conference tournament to make up ground. Didn’t bother listing Indiana St as a team to root against since they’re already a lock to host even though they lost their opening conf. Tournament game.

So you're saying we're pretty much a lock to host? I'll book my flights
