UPDATED to add another offensive record

vs. Mizzou - Most offensive yards in an SEC game (634)

vs. Southern Miss - most yards per play (10+)

vs. Ole Miss - Fournette breaks single game rushing record

First, I know people are going to downplay those records because of Mizzou and Southern Miss. To be fair, throughout LSU history, let's be real, there's hasn't been a lack of cupcakes on the schedule. A record is a record. If it were such an easy thing to do, a record would be broken every week against any soft opponent. These are the type of numbers strong teams ARE SUPPOSED TO put up against weaker competition.

Apologies for being optimistic yet again.

Now someone get on the horn and tell O to split Guice out on the left and Fournette on the right and get them the ball quick and in space. Then wish those DBs good luck.

And all we're doing is being SLIGHTLY less predictable. It's not like O and Ensminger are re-writing the offense or anything.

A Les offense would not have put up those numbers this year.

We're going to beat Bama on Nov. 5. I can feel the premonition resonating in my bones.

Yeah, but it's so boring! I can't be bothered to to stay and support and appreciate the team, when I can go home and watch some other team while sitting on my couch!

When it comes to BAMA, I think there should only be one goal. Get to Hurts and kill him.

The rest will take care of itself.

It really is as good of a start for O and the new staff as we could have imagined. We just look so sharp, fired up, methodical, consistent, and whatever other adjective we have been looking for.

If we come out and perform similarly this weekend, there will be no reason not to be excited and optimistic for the rest of the season.

Wow, over 10 yards per play is a record for us? That cant be right. In our history in any game we never managed to have over 10 yards per play?

I am cautiously optimistic as well. I am even allowing myself to think this team could beat 'Bama.

I am a Tiger to the bone but also a realist. If Saban and Kiffin can accomplish what they have with new starters the last two years Alabama may be unstoppable for this and the next two seasons. Stopping Hurts would be a key ingredient but HOW is the question. I've watched their games and the fella has made few mistakes and is a an athlete playing QB - a true rare breed! I even saw a post game smile on Saban's face!

Those people are stupid. We've played Vanderbilt 27 times. We've played MSU 82 times. We've played Kentucky 56 times. With guys like Jones, Hodson, Russell and Mettenberger at QB - with beasts like Charles Alexander, Dalton Hilliard and Jeremy Hill at RB. And we never put up the offensive numbers we did against Mizzou - this is on top of a long time, BCS championship, highest winning percentage ever coach getting canned for a shitty offense we do this.

And as for USM? We've played FCS schools and not gotten 10 yards per play - with NFL talent at every single position.

So, those people are doubly stupid.

This right here......

I was the last of CLM hold outs, so realize this isn't coming from someone who wanted him booted after his first loss. Under Miles though, the offense looked literally lost. The lack of production bothered me less than the fact that the offense looked liked a set of rusty, greaseless gears. Nothing was EVER smooth. Never methodical. There were no automatics (this one bothered me BAD - it seemed as if every team in the country could complete a 5 yard out route BUT LSU. The snap of the football wasn't a gimmme. I just have these visions of Jordan Jefferson looking over at the sidelines for "guidance" maybe, or the play itself, or some form of direction that obviously never came. Our offense, fellas, got painful to watch.....with all that talent, sooner or later, everyone had to realize the problem wasn't the folks on the field.

Have a downvote for saying nice things about Bama. Sorry I'm not in the mood

There's not a thread to be had on the Rant without someone chiming in with "But, BAMA...."

The record for longest passing play at LSU was set by Anthony Jennings. Just think about all of the great QB's throughout LSU history, let's be real, there have been a few. A record is a record....
