Why people including Michael Williams as if he's on the team?
Lol I don't get some LSU fans sometimes

According to what source? If so we'll see

All of this panicking about the Dline is puzzling. The Dline will be fine. Also the talk about stars on the line is ridiculous. The coaches evaluate talent. If the coaches think the kid can play I highly doubt that he's worried about if the kid is a 3star or a 4star. There have been plenty of LSU players contribute greatly historically to this program that apparently the experts on this board would've undoubtedly passed over.
Morris Claiborne
Jacob Hester
To name a couple.
LSU will be fine along the defensive line.
2020 is a good year for Dline too.

Do you have a source saying he won't be?

This is surprising. I was looking forward to him getting some pt and the only guy I've been real excited about because of the underwhelming job Ed has done recruiting the dline.

So you wouldn't say that Coach O's DL recruiting has been underwhelming in recent years?
Yes you can find diamonds in the rough, but on average give me a high 4/5 star over a 3 star any day if the week.
And it isn't like Coach O is picking these 3 star guys over the 4 and 5 star guys. He just isn't landing the higher rated recruits and is having to take back up plans.

Anyone think maybe, just maybe, the under performance of our DL, Meatball not being a seasoned DL coach, and O not being as involved in that as was previously expected could have affected this kids mindset?
Our DL under Orgeron has been beyond underwhelming in their performance and development given the talent that he inherited. That said, kid has his reason(s) and so I hope he lands on his feet and does well wherever he chooses to go.
Attrition is going to be a big part of this off-season.

That's all lovely but in reality we've missed out on several 4 star and higher lineman the coaches offered and wanted.

What does that do to the 2017 recruiting class?

Transfer Portal is such a dumb name for it. It's like Super Mario Bros

Some youngsters just do not have what it takes to compete, compete at this level. Looking for the easy way to play, transfer instead of work, train & win the position. The star ratings of high school play mean little on the field. It takes courage, stamina & perseverance to make it.
Wish him well, but thinking he is getting some bad advice ..... or sees the handwriting on the wall.

No it’s the size speed strength and ability that leads to those star rating that usually helps on the field.

No I wouldn't. I think 2020 looks good and LSU looks good with several players in that class. I trust the coaches evaluations. I'd love to have a Dline full of 5stars but I'm not going to cry about it and run the coaches down.
Aranda runs that defense why don't some of you bring up his name and call him out? We all know why. It turns my stomach and makes me not like a certain segment of this fanbase

Bingo!!!! Nobody ever slams Aranda for his abysmal recruiting, but he’s the lead recruiter for the DL!!! Wake up!

So 3 classes with no significant DE's doesn't worry you? And now one of the better DE's in those classes is transferring.
And the 2020 class. #nextyearU. Is it so hard for you to come out and say Coach O hasn't received DE's like he should? All you can do is avoid it and point to the possibility of next year.

quote:Aranda is in charge of the Defense as a whole, but focuses on the LB position in both coaching and recruiting. Last time I checked he has completely rebuilt the position group, going from a liability to a strength. Cory Raymond handles the DB's, and he is continuing to do a stellar job. Which brings us back to our recruiting head coach who "specializes" in DL. He coaches them along with meatball(who he appointed instead of hiring a proven coach) in practice, so I would say that's his primary position group. So yes, I blame him for the DL issues. In both recruiting and development.
Aranda runs that defense why don't some of you bring up his name and call him out?
