You can't lift the suspension until the felony charge is dropped or reduced.

this was my entire issue with the BRPD. They said from teh beginning, they were going to arrest TWO people for SECOND DEGREE BATTERY.

that was before they talked to any of the players, the bar owners, or other witnesses.

this should be a simple battery case. j.j. suspended for two games. end of story.

Felony charges are serious. The BRPD "using" serious charges as negotiating tools. essentially playing with people lives. I'm so disgusted with them.

As for Unglesby asking for the suspension being lifted. I understand but I have issue with. It's time to move on and J.J. needs to quit being a distraction. If he is doing this, do it in private. quit making it a public issue.

So you think stating things in the news is equal to being all up in LSU and Les's business?

Work out a misdemeanor plea deal and THEN go to Les and ask him to lift the suspension.

Not gonna happen. Unglesby will never give in to a cut-rate real estate lawyer.

JJ and others made choices and they are finding out that choices have consequences. Some choices can lead to more than one consequence.JJ has a second degree battery charge and a suspension beginning with the choice to violate curfew.Let's hope all learn from this incident and charges are reduced or dropped.

I have no idea.

It baffles me that people don't realize that the University is pulling these strings...not Les Miles.

Unfortunately, because it is a felony charge this will take time. The only way for JJ to get back on the field this year is for Unglesby to press the issue however hard he needs to. This is the first of many moves Unglesby will be making in the next month or so. This shouldn't affect the players still with the team unless they spend as much time on TD as we do.

Cpt. Bengal, you have hit the proverbial nail on the head. This is LSU making this decision, not Les Miles, Although I dont think Miles is putting up a big fight. Jefferson attends LSU and not just LSU football. This has now become a University issue and not just a football issue when a felony charge is at stake.

Agree! - Self serving ego to me at this point.

the last thing the team needs now is to get a new direction AGAIN.

Yes, because: 1) players read the news (or talk to family, friends that read it); and, 2) coaches a players will get asked questions about this. These are distractions that they do not need.

Bingo. There is no way they let the words "felony" and "LSU" get mentioned on national television in the same sentence.

Especially not during their biggest advertising platform.

This.

Most don't seem to understand this even though they see it happen in the news on a weekly basis.

It is also appears to be a violation of Rule 3.6 of the Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct.

I wish JJ and his lawyer would just go away right now and stop being a distraction

It has nothing to do with his level of ability for me. I want Lee starting and have since last season, but Jordan Jefferson, an LSU Tiger, is being railroaded here.

If JJ is being railroaded here, it's by the BRPD and there is nothing Les can do about that.

If what I have heard about Unglesby is true then he IS doing what is best for JJ. For all I know Les and Unglesby had a sit down before this was ever initiated and for all we know Unglesby actually wants the request to be denied.

Les and LSU do not have to answer to Unglesby any more than they have to answer to LSU fans crying for JJ to be reinstated or kicked out of school. He has no power to control such things.

And this isn't possible but IF Les doesn't want JJ to start because Les doesn't think JJ's head will be clear with this hanging over him (that is what he said) then getting JJ put back on the team would still mean that he is last on the QB rotation, so what is the difference???
