THANK YOU! But the 9 Down Vote Clowns were caught in the moment!
That was OUT 2

I thought an intentional walk to put runner in scoring position was crazy. I think the Ist hit the guy got was a double in 9th, but the batter they did pitch to I think had been hitting. I would have taking my chance with Gallaher. But I’m not a coach.

That settles it.
Let’s line up and replay the game at that point with 2 outs.
It’s over man - let it go.

They showed a replay of it in game. He held up.

The runner was already in scoring position, you even said it in your post

I thought so too.
But they showed a replay and he clearly held up.
Not even close.

He held up. It was the right call. The Ump was bad for both teams. Wide strike zone

Think I would have taken my chance with Gallagher as well. Wasn’t he 0 for 4 on the night at that point?
Also, never love putting an extra man on base as the home team when it’s tied in the 9th. I know that may be a bit contrarian though.

Putting the runner on base gives you more options on a grounder hit in the infield. It was the right move 11/10 times.

You absolutely have to throw at the 9 hole guy and get that out
And we had him out if we don’t have the worst outfield positioning I have ever seen

Are we talking about walking Gallaher with a base open in the 10th?

Look at the replay. He knew he went. His facial expression tells the tale

Huh? We walked Gallaher (their 7-hole hitter who had a leadoff double the previous inning) to get to Madera (their 8-hole hitter). Gallaher isn’t an awful hitter, he’s not the 9-hole guy, and Madera isn’t their best hitter either.
