It would be interesting to witness. These rappers aren't millionaires because only minorities are buying their product.

Precisely why you can't let the children run the parents. Grown ups have thrown their hands up and allowed ice cream and cake for breakfast and this is what you get.

Wrong. This is still America. Our system is not one of “ collective “ guilt or “ collective “ punishment. We don’t judge person A differently and hold them to a different standard because person B did something. The ONLY thing that matters here is the TRUTH of this particular incident with this particular young woman.

As for the “ N” word I’d prescribe two things here- enforce the same standard for ALL races and have thicker skin. People are free to use speech you and I don’t like and that principle is infinitely more important than hurt feelings.

Accused of rap singing while white. So stupid. She got out of California so it actually worked out good for her.

Funny how those " unspoken things " only run one way.

Does "white people shouldn't say the n-word" really need to be spoken?

Call it what you want but it does look bad. It’s looks bad in the same extend that Coach O lost a core of his African American players when he supported Trump openly. He had the right to support Trump but it cost him to lose support by a number of his players.

the UCLA Gymnastics team is just a nail salon where the girls got overly catty and now they want to shut the whole thing down because women. The rap racism is just the vehicle.

It’s hilarious how much power we give to words, regardless of the context used.

I wouldn't say it, but it's just a song. I always think context matters. People really shouldn't get so offended.

Unless it was directly said at someone then there is still a difference. Why can't people just disagree with things without losing their minds over it?

Would like to know what the song was.

It’s all silly to me, but some of these kids take these made up rules too seriously, especially when there is absolutely no racist intent anywhere in the situation.

This is a juicy nugget I found in one article:

quote:

Wearing matching T-shirts did little to cloak wounds from months of internal strife within the UCLA program. After two gymnasts told The Times a teammate used a racial slur, which prompted a university response that some gymnasts of color found to be insufficient, the Bruins produced their worst team score in seven years.

So if I walk around my house calling my wife and other women ho’s and betches, but then berate and discipline for my son for doing the same thing, then that is an acceptable, reasonable, and rationale mindset. Go woke or go broke.

Alexis is biracial. The amount of white women attacking this POC is ironic and kind of hilarious.

At first the narrative was that AJ was hurling racial slurs at her teammates. Later, the song lyrics version of the story came out, although many people on message boards still went with the racial slurs version (no mention of the song lyrics). So I feel it’s pretty clear that the song story is what actually happened. However, the bullying part is less clear. AJ says it happened, but the 2 UCLA gymnasts at the forefront of the issue gave an hour long interview on a podcast, and completely denied the bullying. (specifically the fish in the gym bag rumor). So someone is not telling the truth.
