I think we “must win” 7 more games. At least.
that’s what I’m coming up with too including SEC tourney. Win 4/6 of conf games to get to 13-17 and win a few more in Hoover.

Avoid another Q4 loss tonight and maybe a win tonight + 4/6 in SEC games + 2 in Hoover is enough. Anything less than 7 and I wouldn’t feel good about getting a regional bid. 7 gives us hope and being defending champs helps

Anyone know how the ELO on Warren Nolan gets counted?

If you’re asking about the algorithm, I don’t know how it’s calculated.

If you’re asking if it’s considered by the NCAA Selection Committee, I can tell you it is not. It’s not a metric that matters come regionals.

Aside from the RPI, the NCAA SC is, for the first time this year, adding DSR and KPI to the metric lists. It’s intended to de-emphasize RPI, which has served as a stand-alone for the Committee over the years.

FYI - We rank better in the DSR (37) and KPI (42) than we do in RPI (55) at the moment. So definitely 2 additional data points we need to make sure to consider along with RPI if we are able to get to 13 regular season SEC wins.

It gives them more cover to have some wiggle room. Which could be good or bad. But I always think more data points are better if you can avoid it paralyzing your decision-making.

Milwaukee beats Valpo, giving us a slight bump in RPI points, but not moving us up any spots.

Creighton beating Kansas tonight (if that game isn't banged for weather) would probably give us a decent bump as it would give Creighton a 50 point bump.

Yawn. Playing Tulane in any sport doesn’t interest me at all, Nothing to gain by beating these losers. It’s pretty much expected.

I think canceling a game this late should cost the teams double the RPI points for a loss. Put an end to this stupidity. Play the games on the schedule

all games from here on out are must win!

As someone above said...Tulane will be up for this one. Could be interesting given the way LSU season has gone.

I'd like Ricken for the start.

With the way Ricken was pulled after 3 batters last Tuesday against SELA, I would be absolutely shocked to see him get the rock to start this game or any game going forward.

I agree he needs a confidence booster, but he can get that once we have a significant lead tonight.

I wouldn't call it a "must win". Nice to have, sure but our RPI won't be helped either way.

What matters are the 6 remaining conference games.

Go 4-2 and I think we have a pretty decent shot at an at-large. And I don't think one and done in the tourney will hurt that.

Go 3-3 and the chances drop, a lot. Not to zero but they won't be good. We'd better win 3 in the tourney to have a decent shot.

Go 2-4, 1-5 or 0-6 and see ya next year.
