Yes i got it from Warren Nolan. Not sure where to find how much separates each team in RPI. I see the rankings but curious if 6 points moves us up 1 spot or 3, and i haven’t been able to find a site that shows that

It’s on that same page, Impact Games.

To answer your inquiry, +6 RPI points for a win doesn’t move us up in RPI rankings but -50 RPI points for a loss will drop us all the way from #55 to #68.

This assumes all other things remain equal, which they won’t, as other teams will rise and fall and we will have other indirect impact games that’ll move us up/down to a much lesser degree.

Tulane fans used to get pretty nasty!
We're you in attendance at the infamous 1973 LSU-TF game in Tulane Stadium?

Tulane won 14-0 and it was bedlam.

Lots of fights that night.

LSU-TF used to be no different that Bama- Auburn and Ole Miss-State!

Curious to see if Texas A&M will try to cancel their game against Prairie View A&M tonight. They have one of the biggest RPI hits in what’s likely the last true midweek game of the season for many teams across the country.

Texas A&M win: -35 RPI points
Texas A&M loss: -104 RPI points

Simply by playing and finishing the game tonight, A&M is guaranteed to drop from #8 to #12, at the very least.

They need to allow for the bottom 3-5 games to be dropped from the formula. It would stop a lot of these late season cancellations.

I’d give Zion a start over Ricken. All with short leashes.

That would certainly make a whole of sense, though probably too much sense for it to gain traction with the NCAA.

Already seeing a flurry of cancellations this week. Arizona State (RPI #39) vs Mizzou (RPI #124) previously scheduled for tonight has been axed, as has a 2-game midweek series previously scheduled for tonight and tomorrow night between Oregon (#27) vs Grand Canyon (#219).

I hate that this has become commonplace but also don’t blame the programs vying for postseason positioning by watching after their metrics.

That's weather related. Same with whoever Missouri State was supposed to play. There are probably some in the southern part of Illinois being cancelled as well that aren't RPI related.

ETA: The source on that is my window

RPI goes up 6 points

Nope. We just won a game vs Southeastern (RPI 75) and 3 games vs South Carolina(RPI 112), and our RPI is at 55. It was in the 65 before those games. Tulane is RPI 145.

goes down 50 points with a loss.

Nope, maybe 10-15. Maybe.

Think about the math for one second.

RPI = (WP × 0.25) + (OWP × 0.50) + (OOWP × 0.25)

ETA: I see what you're talking about now. Raw data vs RPI ranking. Drop about 11 with a loss or stay at the same spot with a win in the RPI.

His numbers are directly from WarrenNolan.

ETA: And 6 points doesn't equal 6 spots. A win tonight on its own wouldn't move us up any spots at all.

As if there was any doubt, tonight’s game is a must win (more accurately stated, a must not lose) for RPI reasons alone.

I see it now. He was talking about raw points vs the ranking number. Thanks

I'd like to see Noot start as well, but don't think he will. He's fallen out of favor. He was one I figured would be a big contributor on the mound, but he's been touched up in most apperances this year. I do think he'll see some work tonight but not a start and probably only for an inning
