Trying to think of a time this many fans would be frustrated by player NOT going pro early

and coming up empty. Anyone remember anything like this?

Definitely rare. Superstition in me thinks he’d have gone pro if everybody was wishing he would return.

I don’t think anything similar has ever happened with a player

IDK because we have always seemed to lose people early even when they were borderline. But now we get Boutte and JD back and people are mad. When it should be a good sign that we're starting to get more guys to come back.

Low IQ fans are just the loudest

There have been a few posters that are so mad that they want Boutte to now leave. That is the level of moron we have in this fanbase.

It’s a unique situation.
JD has clear limitations which are annoying since our most talented group should be the WRs.
I worry our overall team ceiling with him and does it maximize our talent?
At LSU, goal should be championships so I’d prefer a higher ceiling option.
But Kelly seems to be a bit more conservative and was at ND too (partially why they couldn’t get over the hump).

in fairness, we've entrered a new era of college football with the portal and transfer rules that have only been in place a couple of years. Coupled with the increasing rate of QBs transferring early in their careers, it's hard to compare now to anything else. 10 years ago, a RS sophomore would have no reason to transfer if a player with 1 year of eligibility left is returning because he'd be sitting out regardless.

This definitely ruined a few poster's Christmas. And for that I am happy because miserable idiots deserve to be miserable.

I happen to think that Jayden has a chance to make a big jump with the experience he gained last year. Let's look at things objectively rather than shouting from the rooftops whatever comes to mind.
Full off-season with the coaches and receivers/TE's to improve timing and rhythm in the passing game.
Familiarity with the offense should allow Denbrock to install more wrinkles and nuances he wasn't able to put in this year. He'll get more reps in the spring and summer instead of splitting them with 3 other guys like he did last year.
Familiarity with his surroundings. The kid had never been to Louisiana, much less LSU before he transferred. Moving across the country to a place where you don't know anyone is tough for anyone.
All of these things are positives for Jayden and LSU going forward.

He wouldn't be going pro early. He's started for 4 full years.

Yes, it shows how moronic our fans are. Just like when they said early on that Daniels could not play QB in the SEC. Then LSU started winning with him playing QB. And then LSU beat Bama for the first time in over a decade with Daniels being named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. LSU went on to win the West and then Daniels threw for more yards in the first half against the #1 D than they were averaging giving up per game. But special teams and defense collapsed horribly.
Daniels is too slow to make decisions or to throw it at times and his long ball needs work, but he also throws a lot of very accurate passes and is an elite runner that made huge plays in games to help LSU win the West with a pieced-together team. He's a tough QB too.
Many of the fans on here wanted Nuss gone after the Arkansas game last year and Southern game this year. They were saying he sucked and needed to transfer. We're not a bunch of geniuses on this board.

Him and mattz and damone think anyone who doesn't think JD is the goat are racist. They are going as far as calling poster white trash. Truly remarkable

…all of that is true, AND the OL should be much better.

His stats don’t tell the whole story.
He’s an okay qb
