False. Danny has seen this defense before.

And with a better offensive unit, at home, they held him scoreless. So....

Etling gives us the best chance to not get embarrassed, which is why he'll start. I'm fine with that, to be honest.

False.

A healthy Narcisse who knew the play book would give us a better chance.

Yep. Brennan gives you a punchers chance. Etling gives you a chance to keep it within 10.

give us about a 2% chance of beating BAMA. I just hope we can play them respectable like the Aggies did

Aggie has a better front 7 with more depth so they basically made Hurts one demsnsional. When a spread QB can’t run, which we know Chavis is very good at, you can play them respectable. Aggie has better pass protection from their Oline. They are better coached offensively.
And they should have been crushed.

Yeah I got your point in the OP. Etling starts because against most teams, LSU is as talented, and simply needs a QB who won't lose the game. Etling is exactly that.

Against Alabama, Etling and LSU's A-game is still probably not enough, particularly on the road.

If you play Brennan, he probably loses by 45+ 9 out of 10 times, but his ability could help you win 1 out of those 10. With Etling, we're losing all 10, but it won't be an embarrassment half the time.

Would have been true if he had gotten more experience by now.

The Brennan in your mind would obliterate Bama with his Manning-like audibles and Farve-like arm strength.

The 18 year old actual Brennan would fare about as well as any other kid who looks like the bully from Karate Kid

Over 13,000 post and you let everyone know without a shadow of doubt that you are football illiterate. Just awesome that you are that prolific at nothing. Lol

Sure, start you true freshmen qb who hasn't started a game yet, and has played like 8 snaps all season. Against the #1 team in the nation in their home.

Does that really sound like a good idea to you?

I’m never sure if posts like this are real. You know, did the OP really not know who we should play against UA? Gotta be having a laugh at our expense pretending to be serious, right?
No way anyone and I mean anyone could be dumb enough to think Brennnan should start. If you know anyone who seriously thinks that, take away their car keys and any sharp objects. That’s not a bad idea, it’s no idea at all. It’s a nightmare.

It wouldn’t matter if Drew Brees played Qb vs bama. The score will be an embarrassing. Whenever a defense wants to sack our Qb, they do. Our online sucks at pass protection.
ETA: and our defense can’t tackle worth a frick.

There's a reason you aren't being paid to coach.

Etling is tough as nails and is the only QB that should be on the field for LSU against Bama.

unfortunately......we're gonna live or die versus Bama with Etling. There is no other logical choice.

How in the world did the Aggies score 19 points on that defense?

I remember back in 2010, 2012, and 2014 LSU had success running the ball on Bama. Are those heady days over, for good?

We just need a quarterback to make the throws when they're there. The opportunities will be few, but the quarterback has to take advantage of them. Now we have seen Danny against bama and outside of the throw to Chark wasn't that good. Hopefully this time around he can make the easy throws and make the right reads pre snap because he won't have time to look the wrong way and then comeback where the ball should go. I personally think the Myles is better but I see why Etling is starting. Etling is low risk and I think the coaching staff believes this will be a game like last year.

False Etling currently has the 3rd best passer rating in LSU single season history he doesn't turn the ball over and is much more mobile than Brennan. The younsters time will come, then fans can call for his backup.

Not sure about Brennan. If he had more experience then maybe. Regardless...we need a Cam Newton or a Deshaun Watson or an RGIII type player...i.e. an amazing athlete that always need to be zeroed in on. They aren’t going to be worried about Etling running loose and making a play.

I honestly just don’t think we have the offensive firepower against Bama. We just aren’t a good matchup. They will lock up Guice just like they did Fournette. Plus, they have the speed to go sideline to sideline with us on those jet sweeps.

Also, Bama tends to wear us down with the run game. Lacouture will run out of gas if he plays the whole game like he usually does. D. White will need to have the game of his life and plug those holes.

Disclaimer: Being a realist does not mean that I do not love the LSU Tigers. I will be happy if we pull off the miracle upset. Common sense says they beat us by 20 or more in a 33-10 type of game.
