I don't think you realize how important the nine hole hitter is, it's one of the more important positions in the lineup. You need to be able to hit if you hit in the nine hole.

I really hope it isn't true.

He would really be a serviceable bench player. You always need speedy pinch runners and he has a ton of experience.

if by one of the 'most important' you mean 'least important', yeah sure.

Not that I care about oversigning in football, but why no outrage from the protectors of college athletes about this fairly common practice? What's the difference? Oh yea, in football you pretend to be hurt and still get your schooling paid. Baseball you get a slap on the butt and a goodbye.

I don't understand why he was playing so much the last few weeks of the season

Because our options were extremely limited. We were not all that talented and had virtually no depth.

with whom is he so certain he is going to replace him?

There are probably multiple guys coming in who could hit .220, but offer the possibility of being much better.

I agree with you. It seemed like Skip didn't do this very much at all if ever. I am not sure how you keep your recruits if they see, if you have a bad year you will get cut. Matty Ott should not have survived if that were the case blowing all of the saves that he did... So to be fair, I beleive Paul needed to have a discussion after fall ball versus now.

Also, how do you correctly use whom and not know the difference between there and their?

very unethical move by Mainieri - proves what kind of guy he is

This happens on every baseball team by every coach.

It's just a lot more cut-throat in baseball than in basketball or football because of 2 things - incoming players that can be drafted and a stupidly small roster of 35.

You used your first TD post to show your complete ignorance of how the college baseball system works? Well, the only way for you to go is up.....

i really hate this situation. i hate that PM is forced to make a move like this and i hate that a guy going into his senior season is without a school

this entire situation really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. hopefully something works out and trey can be back with the team as a bench player next year
