He played like dog shite even on some wide open throws. It might have been a “team loss” but he was the reason the team loss more than anyone else. That LB getting hurt really changed the game, but if Lawrence hits ANY of the open passes he had in the second half his “team” would have had a better chance to win. They wouldn’t have won but still.

Lawrence wouldn't be my #1 pick if I were Jacksonville, but I understand why he is

He absolutely crumbled under the pressure. There's no other way to put it.

I don't think Urban will be a good nfl coach at all.

His QBs at Florida and OSU sucked when they got the nfl.

He played like crap after the first series or so in the 2nd half, but did you see their defense? LSU put up 628 yards on 7.8 yards per play and 42 points against the #1 defense in the country (and LSU kneeled inside their 10-yard-line to end the game).

The receiver depth in this draft is ridiculous. Some excellent linemen, corners and LBs will be available in the second round.

I agree wholeheartedly. When LSU caught up with Clemson on the scoreboard Lawrence went in the tank. He could not hit anybody even wide open guys.

That is why I made the comment about the LB getting ejected. It was a combination, but Lawrence didn’t give his defense a break with all those 3 and outs. Man he missed a shite load of throws without pressure. He was thinking that pressure was there and it wasn’t.

No one on their team played well after the middle of the 1st quarter

Absolutely, LSU was better. I would have loved to see the 2018 Clemson team vs the 2019 LSU team play.

And what is their excuse for his putrid performance against Ohio Statelast season?

Yeah, I was surprised how off he was in the 2nd half. It seemed like he went 3-4 series without a completion. LSU started getting in there faster on the pass rush on some downs and it seemed to get in his head on downs even when he had time. Also, LSU's offense was so awesome that I think he felt the pressure to score every series since LSU had 28 points at half and it was too much for him.

Yes, the defense got abused after the first few series. But that statement was only made to downplay how awful Lawrence played. He air mailed plenty of throws and fumbled their last chance away at end. That's relevant to Trevor's evaluation, how the defense played that game isn't relevant in this context.

No it didn’t. LSU was beating the piss out of them when he got booted. The very next play was a short touchdown set up by driving the ball down his throat. That put LSU up by two scores AGAIN, and the rout was on.

Have to agree on this. LSU was already first and goal even before the ejection. At best Skalski may have made a few plays to slow LSU down, but his ejection really didn’t effect the outcome of the game. Lawrence was rattled and was making bad throws, with a bit of help from the LSU defense.

He recruited the two best collegiate QBs of all time. Cam Newton and Joe Burrow. And he threw them both away like trash.
