in reality Ohio St beat them 2 yrs in a row bc 2019 the refs gave it to CLemson .PERIOD. Ohio St kicked his arse aside when he got loose for one TD run .im calling it now . Best NFL career will be Justin Fields out of this yrs QBs . Trey Lance is my darkhorse .Lawrence will be injury prone

Urban is a control freak just like Saban. He won’t be as IN control with this pro team... I don’t think Urban lasts very long as an NFL coach.

He coulda been the mythical child of Joe Montana, Payton Manning and Vince Young there wasn't a snowball chance in hell he could have led that team past LSU. They were outmatched as was everyone else who played them and any team in the history of college football.

Saban would have been wanting to quit like he did when Johnny Manziel ran all over his arse

A&M jumped on them early and held on, they had an int in the end zone with less than a minute left to seal the win for A&M, on what planet is that quitting?

I don't like Urban, but I do think his style and approach will translate better to the NFL than Saban's style did back when he tried (in fairness, I think Saban learned a lot and would do it differently now and would likely succeed).

Aranda had a great game plan and kept TLawrence moving his feet all game after the 1Q. He never got comfortable again and most of those misses were caused by the rush making him move. Great job by LSU D! Holding that team to 25 points, especially after they jumped out to a lead quickly, was a really good job.

Go rewatch and see all the overthrows when nobody was 3 yards from him in t he third and fourth quarter. He “felt” pressure at times that wasn’t there. The point is he is no where near as great as they are making him out to be or close to where burrow was last year, BUT when he is 23, we will see how good he is and go from there. We can’t forget this is still a young kid.
Aranda brought ghosts at him and completely psyched him out. It was masterful.

Jacksonville had to have a quarterback. Lawrence has a lot more footage than the others. I would’ve gone with Lawrence on potential alone. He has every physical trait you want and he can flat out fly.

The mental side of the game is what we are debating. I believe with maturity and coaching he will master that as well.
People on here act like LSU‘s defense wasn’t loaded with first round talent. Besides Queen and Chaisson were first rounders and Delpit and Fulton could’ve both gone in the first round of that draft. Then you has Stingley who was a first team all American and probably the best corner in college football that year. Let’s not act like there wasn’t a high level of scheming and talent he was facing. He didn’t have the same set of receivers nor did Clemson have the defensive line from the year before.

It was 28-25 with 5:58 left in the 3rd quarter when he was booted. Hardly “beating the piss out of them”

Maybe not on the scoreboard, but certainly momentum-wise we were beating the piss out of them. We had outscored them 21-8, and taken the lead, since early in the second quarter.

kneeled inside their 10-yard-line to end the game

And Chase dropped an open TD pass in the end zone (1 of like 3 drops in his LSU career) followed by a missed fg. That game wasn't as close as the final score. We dominated more like a 28 point game rather than 17. Nobody beat LSU that year and if we played them 10 times we win 9 because once in while the better team loses in football. It just happens.

Lawrence, Jackson, and Manziel all looked ordinary or worse against LSU.
