I will admit I don’t follow all the guys when they leave for the minors. Looks like he must be really doing well. Anybody able to elaborate on this who may know more?

He's the same player he was at LSU. He takes great PA, sprays base hits all over the field, and plays a great 1B. But he's 6' & doesn't hit many HR that aren't wall scrapers, so he's justifiably not ranked as the top 1B prospect.

His stock exploded last year and with the only franchise that doesn’t care about 1b hitting homers

He’s done really well, but the Rays number two ranked prospect (Morgan is currently 10th) is also a first baseman in AA with Morgan. It’ll be interesting to see what the Rays decide to do with both of them.

How current is that information, and what’s the source?

Baseball America is now projecting Tre Morgan at 1B and Xavier Issac at right field. Morgan is their 3rd ranked Ray while Isaac is right below him.

Regarding skills they graded Morgan as a better hitter than Isaac, but gave Isaac an obvious nod for power. Morgan’s fielding was also graded as top notch (80 on an 80 point scale), which makes him a perennial Gold Glove contender.

Him and Isaac may both taste the majors this year.

I remember when this board told me that there was no way he would play 1st at the next level and that’s why he should be playing in the outfield at LSU…

There were a bunch of them and all I could think was this is probably the best first baseman we've ever had.

No offense to bear jones, but Morgan's defense was saving runs.

His play at 1st base during the NC season was crazy phenomenal -- bailed us out countless times

It could be outdated. https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/rays

That’s awesome news for Morgan if true.

One of my favorite players to ever play for LSU baseball. He was elite and fun to watch.

And he helped win us a Natty with one of the most clutch defensive plays you will ever see.

I'll be rooting for him.

Tre Morgan is a great example of a player who has maximized his full potential as a baseball player. He's getting every ounce of talent out of himself.
