Jimmy Britt, Jeffrey Dale, Michael Brooks, Wendell Davis, Leonard Marshall and Dalton Hilliard, plus your list.

I’ll never forget The Dalton and James gang, and watching a freshman Dalton Hilliard juke and jive around and through Bear Bryant’s defense at Alabama with LSU winning in the Bear’s last year coaching.
I will never forget the play when he hit a defender (safety?), knocked him over backwards and then stepped on his chest as he rumbled for more yardage. A dominant performance. I would love to have a video link to that play.

I liked Tommy Hodson better
For me, I liked Faulk and Hodson the best in your list only because they were the guys I remember most.
I would also add Dalton Hilliard and Hokie Gajan to my list.
Hokie was just a grinder and that is what I loved about him and he was the starting fullback my freshman year at LSU.
I will also always remember Marcus QUinn because he sealed a homecoming win for LSU vs Auburn in 1980 with a final second interception in the end zone that he almost took back to the house.

That was recruiting hype for James. He was never a great, or even very good, back. It was the Dalton Hilliard show the whole time they were there, and their pro careers verified this.

Dalton Hilliard made Bama defenders quit and he made Bryant quit. Fans and BR media were freaking out when Coach Stovall announced a freshman running back, Dalton would be starting.
