If Canada is gone and it appears that he is, I think we can do far worst than Enos. His offenses use a lot of the same things that Canada has done but it is power based.

Enough with this unadulterated lie.
The LSU offense against Florida was NOT anemic, unless you call 423 total yards, 23 first dowwns, and a 34 to 26 minute time of possession advantage anemic.
We scored 10 points.
I wouldn’t say “anemic” but anyone touting that game as some banner performance is kind of missing the point.

Biggest problem with the offense this year was red zone play calling. Outside of that, it was an improvement.
We need to upgrade at WR badly.

Under this model— would we continue to pay him his buyout AND a salary as OC?

71st ranked overall offense in the NCAA - right on with his career production. Nothing but average to below average ranked offenses through his entire career with a higher than average ranked overall offense once every 5 + years.
Way overrated.

Ensminger would be a garbage hire
Well that settles it. Alleva will make sure that Coach promotes Ensminger to OC.
LSU's time in the Pit of Misery continues! Dilly Dilly!

How have the Defenses of all those teams fared? The Briles offenses are notorious for hangin their defenses out to dry.
Perhaps you should find a Big 12 team to root for, since you despise defense.

Joe Alleva thinks that is a wonderful idea, and F. King Alexander agrees. In fact, they think we should raise La's sales tax so that we can pay his buyout if his future employer has to fire in the future. #Louisianahospitality!

I'm way out of touch here - but didn't Enos's contract say he couldn't leave for another OC position inside the SEC?
Posted on 11/26/17 at 11:43 am to Fus0623
If you can’t see that Enos is a top 10-15 OC , when you consider that LSU isn’t simply going to be able to go pluck whatever OC they want (Canada wasn’t Os first choice) , I’d say you could do much much worse than getting Enos if Canada leaves.
But if Canada is leaving because him and O don’t get along, shame on O for not being able to swallow his pride.

Without actually reading the contract , I have to assume Bert’s firing has an impact on the contract Enos has with Arkansas.

Look at Canada’s work history. I don’t think that guy gets along with anyone.

The list begins and ends with Ensminger. It’s what O wanted last year. There will be no search.
If this happens then O will lose the fan base and recruiting will suffer. LSU has like 1.3 million to give to a top OC so i expect a pretty descent hire if canada leaves.

According to most of this board, Les Miles is the best option

What about Mike Yurcich, Oklahoma State? I know people will say that it is Gundy's offense but that offense has changed a little bit since Yurcich has been calling plays and Gundy has sung his praises the last few years. Seems to incorporated power running into spread concepts:
"From 2015 to 2016, there was a substantial uptick in the running game, as the Cowboys went from averaging 3.6 yards per carry and 126.8 yards per game in 2015 to averaging 4.5 yards per carry and 171.0 yards per game in 2016. Oklahoma State had two games of 200 yards rushing in 2015, but had five such games in 2016. Justice Hill led all FBS freshmen with 1,142 rushing yards in 2016.
In 2015, the Cowboys ranked seventh nationally in passing offense, 14th nationally in scoring offense, 17th nationally in yards per completion and ninth nationally in red zone offense. Additionally, the Pokes ranked in the top 25 nationally in fewest fumbles lost, pass efficiency, total offense and fewest turnovers lost."

Stop being a retard. If defenses failed because of the offense, then explain Clemson who has annual top 10 defenses, yet average more than 75 plays per game yearly?
When they won the national championship last year they averaged over 81 plays per game, they were 10th in scoring defense, and 8th in total defense. With 75 plays per game this year they are 6th in total D and 4th in scoring D.
They were better in total D than LSU last year, and only 2.2 points behind in scoring D than LSU. This while running almost 20 more plays than LSU per game, gaining almost 100 more yards than LSU per game, and averaging 11 more points per game than LSU. This year they are better in scoring D and total D than LSU while averaging 10 more plays per game with much better offensive production. Oh, and they didn't have the privilege of playing a mile of shite teams like LSU did.
Face facts, the running plays thing hurting defense is bullshite, as well as wanting a plodding pro style offense in the fast paced college game. LSU is screwed of ever evolving if the higher ups think like you.

He was coaching at the high school level when Miles hired him. Think about that.
