Hiring Ensminger would be the beginning of the end for O and Alleva.

Well in that case.......

I think people say Enos because it’s a familiar name they heard of. Why tf would you want LSU to run another plotting-I-formation Offense in which top teams like Bama salivate to destroy?

Might as well consider Nussmeier then, right?

LSU should bring that former BYU coach if they want to go spread. Gary Crowton and see how he could do in the SEC

It’s not a plotting I-formation offense. It’s a balanced pro-style attack with tons of misdirection, screens and throwbacks. It’s the perfect offense for what we are built for. People who want LSU to go full on spread don’t understand that that’s not what we are currently built to do. We are built to be a power run team. We just need someone who can bring in a balanced intermediate passing attack with better QB evaluation and development. Enos fits that mold.

So no, Enos isn’t an option just because of his popular name. He’s an option because he is good at his job.

Sterlin Gilbert.

He's been with Strong the past two years, but what he's done with him, before that, and along with the coaching tree he has been under, makes me believe he is a great candidate.

Texas went from 90th in total offense and 83rd in scoring offense, to 16th and 46th respectively. In his first year at Texas, he had a 2000 yard rusher (2028 yards 15 TDs, 6.38 ypc) and a 3000 yard 21 TD, true freshman passer (2958 pass yards, 60%, 7.6 ypa 21 TDs 11 ints, 2 rush TDs) in only 12 games. At USF, they lost their leading RB (3 time 1000 yard rusher, school's all time rushing leader) and WR, yet they only went down from 511.8 total O to 508.5 total O, and only went down to 38.3 ppg from 43.5.

When Miles was being talked about being let go, or possibly replacing coordinators in 2015, I screamed on the coaching changes board for Sterlin Gilbert and Dave Aranda. We have one of them, and if Canada leaves, we need to go after the other.

Gilbert is the guy who coached up Garoppolo when they were at Eastern Illinois from 2012-2013 (8873 pass yards 84 TDs 24 ints in 26 games up from 4883 yards 34 TDs 27 ints the previous 20 games) and Dane Evans at Tulsa in 2015 (4332 pass yards 63%, 8.9 ypa, 25 TDs 8 ints up from 3102 yards, 55%, 6.7 ypa, 23 TDs 17 ints the previous year), and is from the Art Briles coaching tree. Coaching under Babers and Montgomery. By year two, he'd kill with the offensive talent we have.

If not him, look to the FCS for spread OCs. Gilbert came from Eastern Illinois and worked his way up, Joe Moorehead (Penn St), came from Akron and Fordham, and Phil Longo (the guy that has elevated Ole Miss's pass game and run game over the last 5 weeks with a backup QB) came from his ridiculous offenses at Sam Houston State. Oklahoma grabbed Lincoln Riley from Group of 5 team East Carolina, and Herman was at Texas St, Rice, and Iowa St before he landed the big gig at Ohio St.

Good/Smart coaches can see the talent and skill from the coaches at these small schools. I wanted Riley and Gilbert before they landed big jobs, but Miles was too stubborn and ignorant of modern football. Where would LSU be right now with Lincoln Riley or Stelin Gilbert had we gotten them 2-3 years ago, and let them do their thing?

I just don't want any pro style OC. I'm completely sick of that shite. That is the NFL offense, and it gets ran over in college.

Canada will not go to a power dive however a mid major will most likely get hired for these SEC jobs. Canada could likely get a couple interviews once a 4-6 Mid major jobs open up.

You're going to get ignored. It's more fun to latch on to the "O ran Canada out of town so he could promote Ensminger and control the program" narrative.

When they played bama and fla, offense went anemic.

Enough with this unadulterated lie.

The LSU offense against Florida was NOT anemic, unless you call 423 total yards, 23 first dowwns, and a 34 to 26 minute time of possession advantage anemic.

The Tigers lost that game because of a few very poorly timed miscues. LSU's offense marched up and down that field but missed a chip shot field goal and fumbled once in the red zone. We also gave them an easy score with a fumble on a kickoff return near the end of the game.

“LSU coach Ed Orgeron expects Canada to pursue potential head coaching vacancies and he “hopes” his assistant lands a head gig this cycle, he said after the Tigers’ 45-21 win over Texas A&M on Saturday night...“Everybody wants to be a head coach. I hope he gets the opportunity to get it,” Orgeron said..

Guess Canada got to hang around O for a season and said shite, if this guy is a HC there's no reason why I can't be.

Good thing about Orgeron is he does say what he thinks about these types of things. Now it all depends on how badly does Canada want to be a HC. I think a G5 job is his ceiling and FCS school is more likely, but he can get a HC job if he wants one that badly.
