SMU has a shite ton of money to spend. That’s why they went to the ACC and didn’t care about the tv money.

Just for clarification- the schools don’t contribute to these collectives and they don’t pay anything to players whatsoever.

The money comes from donors to the funds which are run by outside people.

The collectives go to business and get money and then go out and pay the players.

How can schools have fund raisers, collect money and pay players?

Please explain how they do it.

Shouldn’t there be a link on the home page or a stickied thread on the recruiting board for donations from fans?

Need to make it simple for people to understand what they can do.

LSU Bayou Traditions

WHAT WE DO
BRINGING VALUE TO LSU STUDENT-ATHLETES OUTSIDE OF SPORTS
Bayou Traditions raises funds to provide Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) opportunities to selected LSU student-athletes. We make NIL deals more accessible, allowing student-athletes to gain finance and business experience without compromising their focus on studies and sports.
?
NIL is a competitive space and now influences where an athlete attends college. We need the tiger community to join us and keep LSU at the forefront of NIL.

If you bitch about NIL and don't donate, stop. You're part of the problem.

I don't gripe about NIL but that take only makes sense if you are talking specifically about guys griping about LSU not having enough money to compete in the NIL era.

But if they are complaining about NIL because they think it should not exist, that statement does not make sense. Of course, I do think NIL is here to stay so people who don't like it need to learn to live with it.

I'm not complaining about the NIL collective or trying to spend anyone's money. However, if I was worth 7 Billion, not million mind you...BILLION, I would make sure that we were at least in the top five. That is all!

Alabama not on the list either.

I gotta admit that this surprises me, although they've had an "NIL collective" long before NIL existed, the NCAA just looked the other way. LOL

What does a collective have to do with players being able to make money off of their name, image and likeness?

I think our O line is pretty solid even though they don't have this guarantee.

Lsu just got a commit from the #1 qb, wr and rb of the 2025 class. They aren’t coming for free. I’m tired of hearing that LSU is broke when the evidence proves otherwise.

Won’t donate.
Will continue to bitch.
My complaint isn’t about LSU, it’s about CFB.

“Crowdfund your team’s roster while we rake & pay out millions to everyone & everything except players”

I’m good. Fix your league, separate athletics from academic institutions entirely, or at least provide a good/service with tangible value in exchange — Such an excess of money in sports & sending people around shaking cups lol?

Not as many people are buying this as you think man.

Also… I’ve yet to see the ole A&M rule not prevail. Watch Ole Miss faceplant next year.
